EBR is at 63 homicides so far and it's mid August.

It has definitely been quiet compared to a year or two ago but bad things are still happening

I typed this out… then remembered the multiple shootings/murders on bourbon and canal from a couple weeks ago

How does this compare to the early 90’s in BR?

Last I checked BR was at 80 homicides this year. That's all of EBRP, but probably a better representation of the real number. Not many happen in the burbs other than Baker.

BR is more violent now than in the 90s, particularly under Broome. Our highest 4 murder totals of all time were in the past 7 years.

It's a little hard to find numbers prior to 1999 but I know a big deal was made the first time it crossed 100.

It's not quiet, it just seems quiet when Kiran is the only one reporting anything.

It’s like you could just connect the dots between all of the data that proved decriminalizing cannabis lowers crime and our decriminalizing cannabis lowering crime
I'd be willing to bet that more than half of the criminals arrested in New Orleans have marijuana in their systems.

Election year. Progressive media has to stay quiet or a republican may get votes.

Thanks to Landry with Troop Nola and the new laws of no parole criminals now know it’s not as easy to commit crimes. Thank you to you reasonable conservative who elected JBE for turning Louisiana into a bigger shithole for 8 years while Alabama and Texas lapped us in growth.

Violent crimes already had either shite or zero parole eligibility. Which are, you know, the crimes that actually make the news. Which is what OP is talking about. But keep lapping up the political theater

Nola mayor will probably be indicted before the end of the year. That will make national news.

I’m seeing pretty much the same murders and crime as usual on the news.

They just stopped reporting crime. Believe me, there's as much crime as there's always been. It's BR and Nola we're talking about.

They have been doing a lot of state and federal raids/arrests. The new complaint is the jail is overcrowding.

I don’t think crime disappeared but if you get say 100 of the top 200 idiots off the street it will make some dent in the day to day
