can't reason with boomers dude. probs some Facebook chain letter inspired this thread lol.
There are a lot of reasons to think smart homes and connectivity are good. But you are obviously too stupid to know what they are or express them which is why you say dumb shite like “lol stupid boomer lol” and “haha boomer Facebook lolz.”

They are archiving everything and when they want you, they get a warrant for the stored data, build relational maps of who you interacted with and go get ya. Further assisting them by allowing Alexa and Siri to gather all that transpires in your house is pure idiocy.

Ok boomer

Do you keep all your money in a pickle jar buried in the back yard too?

i know more about tech than you could dream of dude.

and that's why I'm not scared of it. and that's why I'm voting for yanggang to get $1k per month for selling my data.

Its great that you know more about “tech” bro. You should work on your reading comprehension when you get some time.

There are articles where Ring systems have been hacked and some rando somewhere in the world was spying on a 8 year old girl.

In most of those cases, the “hacking” resulted from the owner failing to properly secure the account used to access the system.

Does it make what happened right? No.

But, it’s also not the fault of technology or the vendor if the owner can’t come up with a creative password, or be bothered to enable 2FA.

Seriously, why are Americans allowing others gather data on them without real consent?

Because the millennials allowed it. They are stupid and didn't care as long as what they were getting was considered cool. Blame them.

The irony is that the FBI warned against smart tv's.

I wonder who was fired for that?
He wasn't fired just transferred to the "recruitment of blithering idiots to set up as terrorists so we can make headlines" division. If he screws up again they'll promote him to either "telephone tip ignorer" or "firearm background checker".

I thought that I might have lost my Car key several months back.I did 1 Google search for replacement keys.

For the next 2 month my TD Page was adorned with pictures of car keys.

Acting like data collection only started in the last few years just so you can shite on millennials is the definition of being "8 up."

It’s not the big tech companies I’m worried about....yet. It’s the increasingly intelligent criminals that are learning how to by-pass in home security. I have a few smart home things, but none of it is connected to my security system. Everything is independent and separate. The idea of everything being on one system makes me paranoid.

Is this a joke? Data mining has been going on long before the digital age. It’s just more obvious now.

All I know is I can turn on my Christmas tree with my voice, rather than trying to step over or reach behind the mountain of gifts my wife has surrounding the tree

I welcome my Bezos home-automation overlords

You try wayyyy too hard. Every single one of your responses is some sort of OT catch phrase or some overused cliche that you hear on Twitter all the time

I think it’s time you get a new schtick

Guy I work with can turn every light in his house on or off, even if they're on the same switch.

He wanted to show me but I said....nah, I'm good.

I love having smart thermostats and a smart tobot vacuum. Those things save money and time. Also smart TVs, hard to stream without one.
