India and Bangladesh seem to be thriving quite well with minimum animal based protein intake. Considering India is about to overtake China as the most populous nation on this planet.

"Wait what do you mean no one will take the job? Entitled fricking commie zoomers"

Don't really know the point of your post. The argument was that you can't subsist on a beans and rice diet. That meat was necessary for mental well being, and to keep people from offing themselves based on Mingo's usual retarded argument.
Humanity has existed for millennia on a vegetarian diet, without the mental issues plaguing our current society. Criticize that diet if you will, but to pin that diet to people offing themselves is straight up stupidity. It's the argument made by people who've never experienced society outside of the US.

India ain’t beating China in tech advances.
You also are arguing different points and trying to move goalposts based on what you feel will be against the proposition. Thriving is obviously subjective but you can’t say Uganda (45m , 93,000 sqmi) is thriving over Texas (29m, 270,000sqmi). Population is not really a great indicator of thriving. See how I cherry picked a situation that helped me?

I provided a link. Do the same. You are better than this bullshite, Kork!
It's very easy to find information which proves that you are way off. The median individual income for a full-time male in the US is in the range of $50-60k. Use your head, NC.

You can avoid commuting in Houston?

What does tech advances have to do with thriving as a species?

Population is not really a great indicator of thriving
Based on what we're talking about, nutrition, it most certainly is.
My first response was to this claim by Mingo:
quote:
People NEED to do things other than wakeup, go to work, eat rice and beans and go to sleep or they'll kill themselves. Literally.
All my responses that have followed have been based on this statement. I'm not moving the goalposts. I've been very specific about my responses to the statement above.

You sure can. It's called not living in Houston.

Nah, because unlike you I understand a want versus a need, and balance my life accordingly. Like not living in Houston.

He said “trendy city” so why are you dragging Houston into this?
Posted on 5/23/22 at 6:14 pm to Centinel
You obviously missed his point. He said the bare necessities to survive are those but to thrive and enjoy being able to do that requires extra. The motivation to do extra at the workplace is typically rooted on providing more for the family and the person and not to better the company. Obviously different when self employed and it’s tied to providing for private life.
You’re stating that countries are thriving just because they are reproducing.

You can’t support yourself off $15 an hour. Good luck saving for a home, car, etc
Posted on 5/23/22 at 6:19 pm to Centinel
You understand that while the pay is a 10th of the U.S the cost of living is a 15th, right?

It's an entry level, low skilled job. If you are a decent employee one can presume that would be the least you'd ever make. The type of person working that job isn't shopping for real estate. They probably are living with their parents or multiple roommates.
I think the starting pay for Amazon warehouse jobs in many markets isn't much more than this. Go make $2/hr more with one of the largest companies in the world.

Gen Z are wayyy out of touch.
When I’ve interviewed many of them it feels like I’m being interviewed for their services.
When I started I just wanted pay. I’m 37

Is the CoL there calculated like the CoL is here?
Here's a hint: cable, internet, air conditioning, etc. are not an actual CoL. They are a want, not a need.
The only need that would fall under the above is heating in northern climates.

Not according to you. Thousands of years ago they didn’t need that. They just made a fire.
