Leave the wife at home. I'll take care of her.

No, you just have to pull over at a rest stop and fill out a form.

Sandestin is not renting to LA residents. Further, all short term rentals (condos) are prohibited from renting to LA residents per the governor's executive order. Hopefully it's lifted soon, it's pointless.

They're IDing you as you enter and tell you to quarantine in place once you get to your destination for 14 days or until you leave the state.
Various counties have stricter rules, so check with wherever you're renting.
Some properties are refusing to rent to Louisiana residents.
We had reservations later in the month, the property management people couldn't give us straight answers on how much we could be harassed by the police if pulled over, so we cancelled and made reservations in Alabama.

They are all required to not rent to LA residents per DeSantis. Some individual owners are doing so anyway, but be clear about the legalities.

Does the mandate include hotels? Because hotels are definitely renting to La residents.

DeSantis has done a pretty damn good job during the pandemic, but this is one of his missteps IMO. It’s overdue

Ah yes, the classic response on the OT about someone wanting to take their family to the gulf coast beaches.

If you are looking at renting a condo, just inform the rental agency that the primary purpose of your trip is to look at condos for purchasing...then they will allow you to rent....

That's not a bad idea, but I bet Sandestin wouldn't even allow for that. I don't understand why the Hilton there won't allow La residents. I thought hotels were free to rent to us.

I have several friends who’ve been to Pensacola and Destin over the past week. All this bullshite about not allowing Lousiana residents is fake news.

It's actually legit - as far as condo vacation rentals are concerned
