I solved this problem early by telling my kids may times that I’m not paying for their college.
There is a very real chance that college tuition will be less than what I pay for high school tuition. That, plus scholarships and 529 plans, I can't wait for college.

Yeah, I’ve been laughed at for being interested more in finance/markets than LSU football or sports in general. Par for the course. Yall just be worried more about the next LSU coach than your own financial future.

This is not why you’re laughed at

Dingo you should let go of your anger. Don’t keep yourself in a box. Free your mind to not be a sheep.

No - on the contrary - there are a TON of Fifty-thousandaires that love swiping that credit card to live like the husband is an neurosurgeon and the wife is a Sr. Partner lawyer.
its funny because the ones I do know that are uber rich are the least flashy people.

You're talking to the wrong person buddy. Didn't ask for it and don't need it. I do like laughing at it though.

A lot of people are also accumulating massive amounts of debt.

That’s strange. All the local billionaires around here drive 25 year old pick ups. They treat their wives to a nice Lexus ES every 15 years or so.

paying 1k car payments per vehicle,
I was talking to someone awhile back who told me they had a car note of $750.. And they are not what I would call rich.

Pretty common now. The average new vehicle loan payment right now is $750, $530 for used.

Wouldn’t even need an extravagant car to get there. Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, mid sized truck…

I paid my truck off in September. Wife still has 4 years on hers. Would have 3 years left but she just had to get the 4wd model last year.
My current situation. My truck is two years old and my wife's (no pics) car is a 2016. I have been telling her for a couple years to get a new car. Not having a note is great, but the repair bills are piling up now and the blue book on it is if I am lucky 6,000 dollars. I do believe in paying vehicles off and keeping them as long as possible, but how long is too long? With the current prices of vehicles (ridiculous) and the increase of just about everything it is close to impossible to get something new and not have ridiculous note (anything over 400 a month is ridiculous)
As it stands now, i am going to have to write a 25k check just to have a reasonable payment on her new car. Very annoying.
