No. That's just some lie they tell kids who aren't good at anything so they won't feel bad

No. It is one of life's lies that everyone has a gift. You get told that it's alright if you are poor in one area that you can make up for it another. It's ok if you are ugly; at least you are smart. It's ok if you aren't athletic; at least you are creative. Maybe you have none of that, but at least you are kind and generous. You get told that these gifts that you think you have also have value. But the truth is that some people are simply better (or worse, it goes both ways) than you in every way. There is no balance.

Given enough time, I can make anyone believe me. No matter how outlandish.

I have a genuine sincerity about me that people trust. Coupled with a sociopathic desire to dominate... It can be a challenge.

My ex gf described it as: disgustingly charming and quietly threatening. Like she didn't know whether to introduce me to her family, frick me in the women's room, or make sure a friend was always around.

She meant it as an insult, I thought it was the finest compliment I had ever been given.

Does a gift necessarily mean you do something better than everyone else?

Would you call pulling OT 10's on the reg a gift? If so, yes.

I'd say one of my gifts is writing. I wasn't born with it though...it's a craft I've honed over time.

Or who knows, maybe I was born with the passion to tell stories, to craft rhymes, and that passion has driven me to cultivate that skill in order to wield it well.

That and I can burp my ABCs
