I didn't say that I disagree with concealed carry. I just said that for most people it isn't needed. Most people who I know that concealed carry would never put themselves in a situation where it is needed. They are typically baws who don't frequent areas where crime is prevalent.

It seems like you insinuated that carrying is like a big process or takes a lot of time. I own a gun and don't carry but certainly get why people do, and it's really simple. It's like putting your wallet in your pocket, really not different.

I've already said my concerns about it. It mostly has to do with my opinion on the general populace. I think most people are stupid, and irresponsible. Therefore, I don't really trust people around guns.

What happens more often? A bad guy/criminal robbing/killing someone or someone trying to play hero killing an innocent bystander while trying to stop a robber/killer?

Neither happen very often. Scenario 1 obviously occurs more than scenario 2.

Daily Concealed Carrying

is a duty.

If you're a grown man with a family, you have a duty to protect them at all times.

I refuse to believe that's not a troll.

No way you're this stupid.

Nothing that dude said remotely warranted thinking he just wants to feel powerful, and everything he said suggested he wanted to feel protected.

ETA: I love that this was downvoted by someone who has no idea what the meaning was behind it.

Where is that exactly? I want to experience that Utopian place.

I live in a city that I think was the #1(maybe top 5 ish) safest city in America recently, and I still keep a gun at home, probably because I don't live in that world that most people you know live in where they never put themselves in a place where a crime could actually occur.

What I mean by that is that most baws who have a CCL aren’t frequently traveling to high crime cities. They are the “type” that would avoid going to New Orleans all together due to the crime. They are staying in their safe burbs. I wouldn’t blame someone for carrying in a high crime city like New Orleans, even though I never felt the need to.

I did laugh when someone mentioned needing to carry when “passing through” New Orleans though

X ray vision and psychic powers. I'm impressed. No wonder you never feel unsafe

Depends on the mindset, but I view it as prepared. You don’t expect to use it, but it’s there.

This is such an ignorant, weak-minded line of reasoning. Do you think acts of violence are contained within some clearly delineated boundaries? I have fire extinguishers in my kitchen, master bedroom closet, and workshop; do you think I'm going to start random fires hoping to use one? Do you think those that CCW normally do so with the intention that there is some boundary they might physically cross that will necessitate armed self-defense? You imagine that simply because you avoid a certain part of town that you are safe? Can't imagine what it's like to go through life with such a lack of self-awareness.

Am US Marshal, can confirm.

Hell, I've been the first one on a scene where an old woman fell down and broke a hip that somehow ended with an unrelated individual with a gun drawn on first responders. I've seen too much "unexpected" to not carry a gun at all times.
