Swing by the Wagon Wheel on Cameron, nobody is pretending to be anything they aren't. Make sure your knuckles are ready, that's about it.

Man, reading this thread confirms my decision years ago to decline living and working in Lafayette.

Lafayette was great when I lived there late 2002 early 2003. Not sure what has happened since.

Went a few times while in college. It was fun but holy shite it's another world in that area. I had to scrape the sleeze off of me on the way back to lsu.

Lafayette still is a great town to live if you can deal with the pretentiousness.

That isn't even normal in Lafayette. Jesus, this is dumbest OT meme out there.

No one actually from Lafayette dresses like that. It's like if I would start a bunch of threads accusing New Orleans of being trashy because I met some dudes from Chalmette and Marrero.

If there's something to make fun of Lafayette for it's the young(ish) hipsters who are unbearable to be around but have started up some really cool places, mostly restaurants, and the new rich people with bad taste who can now not sell their homes because the oilfield tanked.

cmon man, you cant deny that affliction/tapout/ed hardy has not had a 15-20 year run in lafayette. I am 37 now and when I was going out in lafayette back when I was 21 the glittery jeans and graphic tees were just hitting it big, literally every dude in a club was dressed like that. You still see it quite a bit even though that was so long ago. The trend before that was z cavaricci with a turtleneck with the gold chain outside of the neck. That was carried over from the 80's.

lafayette is just weird.

If you can't have fun at Parkplace, Fred's, or the moonlight inn, Prop Stop, Tin Luzzy's, etc you're the problem. Seriously, get the stick out your arse and enjoy a little trashy fun.

Anyone who says they go to LaFonda for the food is kidding themselves.

Or has been going there for many years and likes it.

Is that the place that's by the movie theater on Johnston?

I've never been. It opened up right around the time I quit going bars.

Everyone says the food at Lafonda stinks but then immediately tells you that it does one or two dishes really well. It happens without fail. So while the food across the board may not be great, there are a few entrees there that are pretty good. Also, their fried rabbit is a fantastic appetizer.

yes, it never fails. they have some really outstanding dishes. the carne asada is dank, the fried rabbit is the GOAT appetizer, the nachos are good, and fried chicken is the best in town (not on menu)

Quit going to clubs where people from Carencro, Opelousas, New Iberia and Crowley hang out.

What was the popular night to go to LaFonda back around 2003 or so? Was it Thursday?

I always find it funny that you clown Lafayette at any given chance, but you're from Opelousas.

Ask the local Lafayette people and per them it's the best bar in the state.
