No, being in shape would actually be considered professional.

In shape, yes.

Cartoon swole in a manner that screams "I take juice to get this massive" kinda indicates poor decision making to me.

When I see a guy who is swole, my perception is he is all about himself. Everything revolves around him in his mind. That can't be good for relationships or children. Which is why women are attracted to dad bods. Sure they would love to ride in the Ferrari and be thrilled, but they also know the Ferrari is not a practical everyday driver. Dad bods give off the perception that he is content, is caring for others, has humility while being confident. Things like that matter more to them than looks. Once a man hits a certain physically attractive threshold, that's good enough for many women assuming he has the intangibles.

The Ferrari is not an every day driver, that’s why they just ride in it a couple times a week while dad bod is working

I agree with you.

All that time in a gym to not be able to walk up steps without being winded and needing a CPAP. Retarded

I just don't understand the fascination people have with getting that massive.

Bad for you hormonally.
Bad for your joints.
Bad for your internal organs.
Bad for your complexion.
Bad for your emotional health.

But you're super swole and look like a cartoon. I just don't get it.

Why aren’t any Fortune 500 Executives ‘swole’?

No high level politicians are ‘swole’

No ministers or pastors ‘swole’

Most of these guys are 50+ and no longer produce sufficient natural testorone to get "swole" like a dude in his 20s. There's also the fact that a ripped natty lifter is going to look "average" in a long sleeve dress shirt with a suit. So many of them are likely more buff than you think. And as far as pastors - the trained ones are typically very bookish "nerds." There is a ton of reading, writing, & critical thinking included in the average seminary program.

There's also a lot of discipline in general to being fit - money can buy trainers & roids, but Ben Franklin can't lift the bar for you. Hence why a lot of these successful execs are still physical wimps.

I had a coworker that spent hours lifting. His knee clicked when he walked, he was always sounding like he had trouble breathing.

what are we talking about here? we talking about the guy who is at max 200 lbs and 10% bodyfat or are we walking 275 at 18%?

cause if we talking guys that are like pro bodybuilders....i agree that takes way too much time and crazy amounts of steroids

i assumed OP was talking a guy that is 5'10 190lbs 12% bodyfat, something like that not some freaking insane mass monster

There is a fine line to this honestly.

Too swole, like wrestler Goldberg look. That’s too much time in the gym. High executives and high achievers as you put out there don’t have the time or desire to be in the gym that much. They get in get their workout for healthy living done, then they get out.

Fat slobs show lack of discipline and work ethic.
Meatheads show too much time to be able to be at the gym and just work on their muscles.

The key here is defining terms. How do we define “swole”?

I think the guys in Top Gun Maverick for example look what I would call “fit.”

This. The ones I consider "swole" are HUGE and do tons of test/tren etc. Definitely not healthy. Of course most work manual labor jobs, especially in the oil fields where it can help them functionally.

Too "swole" is still better than a sloppy, fat f$%k though.

ETA: I would say its more unprofessional to be a fat sloppy frick

I agree that it looks more unprofessional to be a fat sloppy frick.

But I COMPLETELY disagree on your first take. I don’t need somebody who puts themselves and their appearance first. I need somebody who puts their work responsibilities first.

It’s been my workplace experience that the swole dudes were that way because they kept a regimented schedule with an obsessive commitment to that individual goal. THEIR needs and schedule came first, above team goals. They were great if the work allowed them to fit the job into their schedule, but could not be counted on to adapt when the pressure was on to put the job first outside of their schedules.

This is definitely a take I'd expect from a soft, glorified secretary.

You have the most bitch-made posts on the OT daily. It has to be just pure trolling at this point.

I don’t take sick days, I don’t need cigarette breaks, I don’t have to shite 10 times a day, and I have cognitive function because I don’t treat my body like shite

yall are so ignorant. 1-130 3-4 times a week is all you need.

I’m not knocking people who work out and have a regimen. Some guys look great with that kind of schedule, and are successful people. I am talking about the guys who are obsessed with it and devote so much time/energy to it, like they are never satisfied with their appearance.

I work out, but will not let a workout interfere with family business or our livelihood. I can only devote a certain time to it during the week and if something occurs that conflicts I don’t go. It’s Not as much as I would like to, but I feel much better and ten years younger.
