Is beard maintenance really all that important other than keeping it trimmed?

Some folks talk about all kinds of oils and washes and brushes. I’m rocking a .50 comb from the store and seem to be doing fine.

I haven’t shaved, trimmed or washed in years. You’ll be fine

Similar to the hair on top of your head, some of us have it easier than others.

I use some head and shoulders on my beard when showering. That's it.

I get compliments on my beard often.

I have oils, but haven't used them in years.

If I randomly sleep on it weird, I put some water on it in the morning to get it to lay down.

I wash mine with the same shampoo and conditioner I use for my hair and I use a small drop of oil to keep it tamed. The more tedious part in my opinion is trimming/lining it up.

I trim about 1-2 times a month and use beard balm daily from buff city soap. Wash with whatever shampoo/conditioner my wife buys

It becomes a hobby to them. It's not really necessary.

I just trim mine about once a week and wash with shampoo when I shower along with my hair. Easy Peazy

Beards are just pubes growing on your face. Some dudes’ face pubes need more taming than others.

If you have a beard, you should keep it like your boyfriend likes it.

My nephew has some sort of special shampoo and conditioner for his beard. Smells like baby diapers

Do you go home and masturbate furiously to those compliments?

Dudes with long beards are weird as frick sometimes. Not saying you in particular (despite the joke above), but I've seen far too many dudes obsessed with their beards and do it all for attention. Beard dudes are a weird animal.

I like to moisturize mine when it's longer. Some scrub and finish off with oil. Wife likes it

Also, can we please kill off the long pubey beard and flatbill hat look? Its like mom jeans for dudes. Nobody thinks that looks good.

I use a brush because when it gets thick the comb keeps pulling the hair. My wash is shampoo when I shower haha. I did some oils once but hated accidentally touching my beard and getting my hand greasy. I touch my face a lot, so the oils don't make sense for me.
