Since Baton Rouge is in Plantation country, it's neither redneck or cajun. Just racist.

Baton Rouge is neither Cajun or Redneck. It's suburban.

BR is not Cajun or redneck. It's a college town with no real culture/identity besides LSU. (Coming from a lifelong BR resident )

Livingston/WBR = Redneck
NBR= Ghetto
SBR=Wannabe NOLA Elite
NOLA= NOLA
LAF = Cajun

Baton Rouge is the crossroads where all the different cultures (Mississippi Delta, Protestant rednecks, cajuns, creoles, German coast coonasses, transplants from Ohio, etc) meet and cancel each other out.

I'm greatly offended that Tangipahoa, Washington, and St. Tammany Parishes are considered Greater New Orleans. They are in the Florida Parishes, as are Livingston, St. Helena, the Felicianas, and East Baton Rouge.

WBR and Livingston are nowhere near similar... maybe LP and AP as redneck but not WBR

Baton Rouge is pretty much nothing culturally. All of my friends who grew up here have zero accent or unique style of cooking or really anything.

Not a knock against them or anything and they all admit it as we have discussed it. Typically when they have trouble understanding what people from my hometown are saying or think something we cook is new.

I have cousins that grew up and still live in or around Central and they're redneck and talk with a country redneck drawl.

Baton Rouge has as much culture as PF Changs. Which, coincidentally, is an iconic restaurant in BR.

I grew up in Central in the 80s and 90s. It was definitely redneck back then. It's far less so now.
