We spend $1000 a month on child care.

Childcare place closed but asked us to continue paying so they could keep their doors open.

I threw them the finger and walked out asking them if they planned on paying me back for the expense and trouble of having to find a person to fill in since we still have to work.

I see both sides of this. They were discussing it on Reddit and someone said that for many daycares, you are paying for your spot. In some areas, getting into a good daycare is really tough and you wouldn't want to lose your spot and/or have them lay off all of the good staff your child has been trusted with.

If finding a new daycare is easy, I definitely wouldn't continue to pay. But if I was somewhere where it was tough and my child was in a good place with good staff, I'd want to ensure they are kept afloat.

Our aftercare/daycare finally closed but asked us to pay $25/week instead of $75 so they could continue to pay their employees.
I'll gladly pay that bill.

Same here. We have a nanny and are continuing to pay her (for now) but asked her to stay home until this is over as she commutes on the Subway. We have a good relationship with her and want to make sure she can get through this whole. Now, if this thing last much longer than a month or so, I may have to reconsider

No. I’ve spent a good bit on gym equipment.

Well worth it though.

We haven't eaten out this month but she's spent almost $850 on supplies and food so i'm really further in the whole then I would have been. She keeps wanting me to go back to the grocery store like they are going to fresh meat or something

I haven't seen ground meat in almost 2 weeks in Arkansas. I went to moms and got some meat out of the freezer. They were floating around the idea of processing one of our cows this year. We didnt put any deer in the freezer this year

For the best to not look. I upped my contribution and just stopped looking at all retirement accounts.

Not that I think it will get bad enough, but I've exclusively bought pork to fill the freezer.

If the shite hits the fan, I've got 70k acres of prime hunting land behind the house. I can stretch deer for a LONG time with 100lbs of pork.
