Daddy issues are a result of absent or poor fathering. It is a result of that brokenness.

what does banning gay marriage do to prevent poor fathering?

yeah I agree
but I'm willing to bet that the average gay couple would make better parents than the average hetero couple

I've never met a stripper with two mommies.

It doesn't. Two lesbians cannot offer a child the father he should have. Two gays cannot be a mother. The argument from one other poster was that because heterosexuals screw up it somehow justifies ignoring the importance of fathers and mothers.

Well there you go; I resign my argument.

look dude
when we live in a world where a hetero couple making combined $18k/year can pop out 8 kids while living in a shack and feeding the cheetos and Mountiain Dew for every meal is completely legal but 2 financially stable, loving guys cannot marry and adopt
something is wrong

With exception of the people who spit out babies before coming out or what have you, gay couples go through an awful lot of trouble and expense to have kids. These folks are committed to parenting.

I'm all for it. Let them be as miserable as the rest of us.

When over 50% of married couples divorce, and a huge percentage of children are born to single mothers, kids are already being raised by one parent, with limited input from the other.
If two guys or two women are willing to give a child a loving and stable family environment, they should be allowed to do it.

There's a world of psychological ramifications of children being raised by same sex couples that we've barely scratched the surface on. That isn't slowing the progress of same-sex marriage or allowing those couples to adopt.
Haven't really heard of two many kids that have been raised by gay couples going and shooting up a gas station. I've heard of plenty of instances of kids in a single parent household of doing this. You would have to be ignorant or stupid to think that children of gays are more likely to turn out worse than a single parent household or foster care, of which they're actually more likely than not to end up in prison at some point in their life.

Not that I care about the overall topic at all, but I believe this stat has been thoroughly debunked and wish it would stop being repeated ad nauseum.

Agree, neither should be allowed.
