Is an ER visit counted as “Hospitalization” in the Rona count

My daughter got it last week and kicked her arse (for being a teenager). Saturday was her worst day. She started complaining of pains on her side late that night, and she had lung problems as a toddler. It sounded like pneumonia was setting in, so I took her to what I thought was a 24hr walk in clinic. It’s the place next to Gold’s Gym/Discount Tire in Prairieville. Turns out it’s a full service Emergency Room.
Turns out there was no pneumonia, just Rona pains. We were there maybe 45 mins (only people there).
I’m wondering if this counts as a hospitalization in the count.
BTW, I really liked that place, superclean, friendly, and fast.

No
I have to do the daily COVID numbers that are reported to state and federal level.
They specifically ask for number of patients with confirmed COVID in an inpatient setting. They also ask for patients with suspected COVID in an inpatient setting. I actually go through all the patients that are inpatient (which is NOT the ER) that have pending tests and read their charts to see if they are being tested cause they have symptoms...or for another reason(ex: screening so they can be discharged to a SNF, etc). I only count those that they are truly thinking COVID.
They do ask for how many suspected or confirmed COVID patients are waiting for an inpatient bed in the ER though.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens in larger parishes. Coworker tested positive for “coronavirus” and was told to quarantine. Two weeks later gets a call from the urgent care saying it wasn’t the Covid-19 strain.

There’s no question if she had it. When I took her to the ER, she had already tested positive. I was just wondering how they count hospitalizations in the count.

To be counted you have to be admitted
An ER visit is not being admitted

If a motorcycle crash counts as a covid death I am sure no one even showing up counts as a hospitalization
Pump those numbers up

Why would you kick her arse for getting the virus? The 3 most mask wearing loyalists in my office have all tested positive for Covid over the kadt few months. Nobody is needing to kick their arse

That must have sounded funnier in your head

its funny how people can say shite thats not true and people just believe it and run with it. so tired of people making shite up and everyone else accepting it as fact.

Cause wearing the mask keeps you from GETTING the virus?
Well, it’s only been about a year. Shouldn’t expect people to know what the intended purpose is.

He didn't kick her arse for getting the virus, he kicked her arse for being a teenager.

I like the stand alone ERs too. Wait till you see the bill though. Had to take my now ex to one several years ago. An IV and some ER doc time was over $10G out of pocket. Back then they weren’t even any part of an insurance system. Care was excellent though.

The daily numbers are information mandated by HHS and state health department. We used to report this to CDC but remember...Trump’s administration changed that and demanded it be reported to HHS. Don’t like the questions they are asking...blame Trump administration on that one.
Another department has to daily report our PPE supply levels. Another department how many vents, etc.
Just telling you the information asked of my department.

Everything is considered as Covid if you’re JBE
Posted on 1/6/21 at 7:46 am to theantiquetiger
No it isn’t and fwiw deaths from car wrecks involving covid infected people is not considered a covid death.

It's not really although it's equipped to handle some common emergencies. You technically weren't admitted, so you don't count.
But be glad you have an amenity like that in your neighborhood. That's a handy thing to have nearby.
