re: Headed to Normandy

Obviously do all of the WW2 parts that are recommended above as priority #1.

Honfleur is a very cool city to visit and eat dinner. The prop was invented there.
Etretat to see the white cliffs that Monet painted.
Fecamp for the Benedictine monastery where some baller brandy is made.
Drive through the countryside on your way.
Someone just dropped a grand for LSU jello shots and gave them out to the bar
Looking for some options to buy directly from fishermen anywhere south of Nola. Any ideas on FB pages or other avenues to buy directly from the shrimpers?
I’d be interested in looking at Japans Rt values during this time. I have not seen a better indicator for Covid.
Craving some oysters and want to know some recs that I can hit up every now and then. Last one I’ve done was at Luke right before the pandemic.

Is that still in the bill? Tried to look it up, and it was said they took it out. Stupid that it was there in the first place.

I also see there is not enough language to keep the EPA from enforcing some kind of additional tax on cattle.
Well, a target is on their back now. Why the frick would they report on this? Could be either:
A) they found out from dems leaking intel briefings and dems want the Chinese to know
B) Chinese found out and want the Dems to know about the secret op by leaking intel to the WSJ

re: Gas stations in NOLA?

Shell off of tchoup in LGD had gas but the lines were so long when I passed by. I wouldn’t recommend waiting in line because there’s a good chance that gas won’t be there after waiting for hours.

If you can, get out and fill up outside of Nola. North shore isn’t any better right now because a lot of those folks have generators and need to refill.

This statement reflects an ignorance of the history of Christianity.

Well if you want to go back hundreds of years then you can lump in any major religion and ideology. I don’t see Christians killing minority religions today.

Practice your religion where other people are also practicing. If not, war with millions of casualties has historically been the outcome.

You act like this statement is for any religion. It’s not. It’s only Islam. Don’t lump all religions in with this statement.

Well you might want to add the covid risk for this as well

.09%

So the vaccine actually helps to reduce this as well

You referring to Singer’s study? Are 12-17 y/o young adults? Do you have anything for myocarditis in young adults?

Also, it seems like they viewed myocarditis as far as 90 days out. Seems like a pretty long time, but I don’t know how long it would take before you can rule out Covid or a vax causing myocarditis
quote:

your risk is very low to be hospitalized if you are 30, but what is your argument for not taking something that reduces that risk 31 times?

Covid risk for serious illness is 0.006% in 30-39

Vaccine risk for myocarditis (and pericarditis) is 0.0013% for young adults.

If people feel they are healthy and their risk is lower than 0.006% bc they don’t have comorbidities, they have a very good argument to not get the vaccine to avoid myocarditis.

Edit: people 20-29 have an almost equal chance of getting myocarditis from vaccine or severe hospitalization from Covid. This isn’t even accounting for comorbidities.

Again what difference do you think it makes in this case if the person is vaccinated or not?

That mutation can become the dominant strain in the individual and pass it on to another individual…or is that just clearly not a possibility?

The rest of my comment. Would the chance to pass on a mutation be less likely if it doesn’t become the dominant strain in the body?

I’m not arguing for or against the vaccine. I’m just trying to understand if this “leaky” concept means that vaccines are going to be a routine thing for the rest of our lives.
quote:

People seem to think viruses replicate to avoid antibodies, instead of understanding replication is 100% random

A virus will mutate when given enough opportunities, no one is doubting that. If those opportunities are in vaccinated individuals (although they are less than a vaccinated individual), a mutation that is “invisible” to the antibodies is possible, no? That mutation can become the dominant strain in the individual and pass it on to another individual…or is that just clearly not a possibility?
quote:

The virus doesnt have a brain, it doesnt think or care. Variants simply happen when replication fricks up.

Replication occurs in vaccinated individuals. shite ton of people get the shot but still contract Covid. Replication has more of an opportunity to frick up to a strain that avoids antibodies.
quote:

Nothing "makes" the virus mutate. Its simple, the more hosts and more viral replication that happens, the more mutations. That simple really. Even if a vaccine is only has 10% efficacy, that still helps in reducing replication which therefore helps in reducing mutations

Not a medical professional, but would significant replication and transmission of the virus from vaccinated individuals to others give the virus more of an opportunity to mutate into something that avoids current antibodies? The virus gets to replicate and “train” inside of vaccinated individuals. One can argue that the mutations may be less severe, but we won’t know until we do this global trial.

wouldn't say that's insignificant...

It is when you see it’s from the CDC, who do no differentiate between FROM and WITH COVID. Plus, it’s not accounting for the flu deaths that would’ve occurred had a normal flu season passed through the US (or was flu just listed as COVID?). So tired of this bullshite. Let people live their fricking lives.

No, this is where OTers call out blatant hypocrisy of the left for the millionth time.
Any alternatives for a 10’ long 4x4 post? Need to build a small section of 8 foot fencing but not get ripped for the cost of wood. Thankfully I have salvaged boards.

Interesting to see Cali still keeping things pretty solidly locked down like Europe. They’ve had 2 waves and may see a 3rd wave that will cause the Gov to freak out again. The gov mentioned he’ll likely be in a recall vote, so that may change his tune.

What’s your latest take on this? Personally, I’d like Pasedena, but Vegas would be just as awesome. I think Vegas would love to have us there as well.

Don’t drive into it. If this is some sort of analogy you’re giving to depression (being that you mentioned therapy), definitely don’t drive into it and go to therapy.

It obviously depends on which side of the fence and news channels you watch to decide which riot was bad and which was mostly harmless and just patriotic.

I actually looked for the facts and it was pretty easy to find out which one was bad and which one was blown out of proportion. People want to see it a certain way, so the news stations ablige them and may even have an agenda.

Edit:
The certain way that half of the people want to see it is much different than the other half because of the collectivism and major shift of the left to socialism and radical political activism. If you’d like to argue that, I’d suggest first looking at the democratic platform today vs 10-15 yrs ago.

Well it’s either go to the courts or get terminated. I would fight it tooth and nail. The real problem is our expectation that the judges don’t value or view our liberty as the most important thing. It’s scary.
