I wouldn't normally think it was a big deal, but other than purely physical reasons, I can't imagine why the 26 year old would want to date the 18 year old.

If she's in high school, then she still has so much of the world to see, and college is a huge change, and then after that graduating college is another huge change.

She may not even be the same person at all when she leaves college. I know if I were to marry a girl, I'd want her to be educated and ambitious, so I'd just leave her alone until after college, and even then...there's still some life stages to go through.

Then you factor in how much even physically a girl can change from 18-22/24, it can be much more drastic than many would think.

It would have to be something really really solid, like families know each other, or you've known each other for awhile etc. etc.

It can happen/work, but I would guess even if it starts, in short time it ends.

Yes, he shouldn't date her. Just use her as a slam piece.

Exactly. I know a guy in his 30s who was boning a HS senior. They got along outstandingly but there a just some things that can't be bridged across the generation gap. Bone and FWB only. Dating? VERY WEIRD.

Stuff like this is why I've laid down a no dating rule before the age of 50 for my daughter. If she wants to go see a movie and get some dinner, me and her mother are perfectly capable of taking her.

8 years isn't anything between couples for the most part.

It depends on where those 8 years are spaced. If it's a 28 year old and a 36 year old, I agree, but 26 to an 18 year old, no. It is in my mind the HS equivalent of a senior dating a 7th grader. Just a massive difference in maturity. I really don't even know what I'd talk about with an 18 year old high schooler at 26. The girl you're dating can't go into most bars, and has no experience living outside of her parents' shadow. Why would anyone want to date an 18 year old when they're in their mid-20s? Bang, sure, but dating just sounds like that guy has major problems and is borderline predator.

Besides, what does a 26 year old have in common with an 18 year old? That would get really old, really fast

Deduct 5 years from the guy for maturity index....21 and 18.

The "she's in HS part" is what makes it creepy.

I still think about her now and then.

College is another thing I'm against. She has no need for it. She'll finish 2nd grade in May and in my personal opinion that's all the education she'll ever need. She can write great, reads non-stop, and the drawings she puts on the fridge are nothing short of masterpieces. The latest is her as a Pegasus unicorn princess saying that she loves her daddy. I've thought about submitting it to the Louvre in Paris.

My grandfather was 32 when he married my 18 year old grandmother but that was in pre-revolution Cuba and he came from money. Different time and culture I guess

Not weird. Get over the fact that most of you couldn't pull young hot women.
