Had a girl 1st and a boy 2nd. That was the perfect place to stop. 2.5 yrs apart and they are super close.
Grew up with 2 siblings and could handle 3 maybe but 4 would be overwhelming.

Twins is almost cheating. Two girls 18 months apart-wait a few years-two boys 16 months apart and two years almost to the day, another daughter. Greatest free show on earth. Each child was unique and provided unique challenges to their parents's sanity, patience, and restraint. (Frankly, I didn't start getting gray hair until we had the boys.)
Money is not the big issue many seem to believe it is. There's just some personal shite you might want or want to do that has to be suspended or abandoned to provide for your family.

5 is an shitty family number. When we used to go to amusement parks when we were kids, you can only fit 2 per ride so it was always a Hassel. Both parents can't ride at the same time cause you can't leave one kid by himself. So basically dad has to ride the same ride with 3 different kids in a row.
