You tell us. Can they afford it? Do they want 3 kids? You can have as many kids as you want, just take care of the sons of bitches.

If you have to ask a message board how many kids is right for you, maybe you should hold off for a while.

You can’t really have 2.5 kids so to correctly pose the question you should ask-

“Is having more than two kids too many kids?”

I got 4 and I’d have more if we were in a different financial position. If you are a good dude and have a good wife it’s hard to beat having a house full of them.

We have 5 my wife had two girls before we married. I really enjoy my kids, my oldest son is 17 and we are still like best friends. My youngest are 12yo twins, boy and a girl.

Good stable couples should have as many kids as they can afford which is 1 or 2 more than they think they can afford.

Why have as many as they can afford? I can afford more than I have, but see no problem with just one.

two elements to your post.

2nd is true for me.
Although it was a stretch for me ***, it was a great thing I would not change.

First is tricky.
The average length of all marriages in usa is under 7 years even though millions shy away from the daunting responsibilities or opt to do career well as possible.

do you accept that good couples divorce or does that prove they were terrible under the sheen of apparent love, fun and mutual delights.
Hmmm?

***
I had to take 2nd job, teaching one course a semester on saturdays.
That meant zero attendance doing service at retreat center of my Buddhist sect. No company of men.

Just work.

I am speaking in general terms. I believe generally it is good for society for good people to procreate and be responsible parents. The more the better.

It’s just my opinion man. If good folks have one kid and bad folks have more the world will be full of assholes pretty quickly. I just think it’s good for society.
