I keep one in my car during the day, inside a secure parking area, but it comes in at night. Sometimes I leave it in the car inside my locked garage, but I would never leave one in a car outside where it could easily be stolen.

It seems a lot of Republicans leave theirs outside and invite Democrats to take them and commit crimes with them.

Again, when did we get to the point of blaming the gun owner for someone breaking into his car and stealing his gun.

What if the gun was in his house, but not locked away? What if it was locked away, but in a safe that is easily carried off?

I've tried twice to get on that. Whoever runs it in my hood won't let me join. Maybe it's because I'm an a-hole, but it's probably because they are jealous.

My guns are always with me. I lock them up in the console at school though

The vast majority of people who put guns in their vehicle leave them there

shite man. I don't know if I have taken my gun out my truck in years. (the console locks but still)

Me either, I bought one just to leave in my truck. It has been there roughly 8 years, only removed to shoot and clean.

Every now and again I leave a handgun in my truck at night. It's parked 15 feet from the window of my bedroom, has a flood light shining directly on it, and is locked every night.

If somebody wants to break into my truck, they've got to get past two dogs first. I'm comfortable with those circumstances. I have plenty of other guns that me and the rest of my family can access immediately if my dogs get pissed off at night.

Know your surroundings, and have a plan of action for any possible event at all times. Simple enough.

I do all the time. I also lock my truck, would you blame me for being irresponsible if someone broke into my locked house and stole my gun?

Not sure about irresponsible for anyone else because I grew up with shotguns in the back window of my Ford truck that was left unlocked in my driveway as well as the parking lot at high school and the A&P store but I do not now leave a weapon in my vehicles at night. During the day yes and actually this is probably the time when someone could get mine as at home the vehicles are locked inside a secure garage.

I used to all the time.

I have kids now so I take extra precautions with all my weapons.

I still carry in my truck with it on Red and ready to roll at any time when I have positive control, though.
