Can someone give me like a two-sentence synopsis of who these people are and/or what this story is about? I legit have no clue.

Crooked arse lawyer who stole and murdered his family. Convicted today.

Admittedly, I haven’t watched much of this, but he strikes me as the type that wouldn’t hold up well in prison.
I’m guessing he kills himself despite the cowardice assessment.
I feel the same.

Old money family in rural SC who ruled the county like mafia bosses for over a century until a series of screw-ups by one (or both) of the kids exposed the dad as one of the biggest frauds the state has ever seen.

He's gonna get 2 life sentences tomorrow. The Feds could still try him and get a near life sentence based on Alex's own testimony in this trial. Allocate those resources elsewhere imo.

What did his son say on Snapchat prior to his death?
Alex’s voice was caught on it. It was right before the murders and 45 minutes after he said he left.

Is anyone else not struggling a bit with the alleged motive?

Murdaugh won’t fare well having to do Fed time.

The sentence will be multiple life sentences. He’ll get to decide how much of that he serves

I’m not struggling even a tiny bit.

Everything seems laid out pretty well to show what motive is there for every single death. Anything to protect himself.

When the jury came back so fast, some folks we might have expected to see there may have lived more than an hour's drive away.
Alex's sister was there as were Buster and his girlfriend. Neither of Alex's brothers nor their families were there. Others who had testified one way or another...someone with a memory for faces may be able to create a list of those not there.
Who will pay Harpootlian and company at big time lawyer hourly rates?
Who got Bubba the chicken catching dog?
Randy will pay Harpoo just to save their reps a bit. I almost bought John Marvin's Richie Cunningham schtick.
That dude was there to do Murdaugh clean up on aisle oh frick.
I had a family friends wife kill herself on the back 20 of their property (Reminded me of Moselle minus 1600 acres) in the guest house.
They hired professional cleaners that were quick---- so the girls didn't have to see their mothers horrid brain matter.
No matter what your financial means are-who grabs a bucket and clorox and does that?
And LOL at the training chicken and Busters flower pot.
I would have let them pass on that... But Maggie's bike like she used it as she was in her Mercedes ordering Gucci.
I read that Ms. Blanca called Paul, Paw Paw-He probably made it for her. As his mother was a high maintenance flake it seems, allowing her sons carte blanche reign.
Then the weirdo looking Ellick shirt in the window shows how fricked up these people are. Bet me John Marvin Howdy Doody did that.

you watch too many movies; no motive needed

Not struggling at all.

Sorry for the disappointing verdict. Hope you cope.
No skin off my back. The dude needs to be in prison for life regardless.
I honestly hope he did it and some other co-conspirstor didn't get away with it.
I do think he was involved. I also wish the prosecution would have done a better job proving their case.
Have a blessed evening.
