I think this is destined for a hung jury.

I haven't watched more than a few minutes of the trial but I talked to Jack Swerling (along with Harpootlian the go-to SC crim defense attorney) earlier this morning and he predicts a hung jury, though that was before the juror got kicked off.

Is it just me or does the defence attorney doing the closing arguments suck? He seems so disorganized for one, and his “arguments” don’t make any sense. He’s very hard for me to follow.

If ellick were to respond to his own calls or texts using Maggs phone, as the defense closing is suggesting he would have done if he was truly trying to form a fake timeline, wouldn’t both phones then be pinging off of the same tower, an absolute sign of guilt?

He's somehow all over the place while simultaneously boring as hell.

The jury must have really seemed to hate Harpootlian for this guy to be put in charge of the closing.

Not sure why the judge is continuing to let the female prosecutor sitting directly behind defense lawyer on video make faces, shaking her head, mouthing words etc. She is looking petty at times imo

I think She’s behind the prosecution’s table, just the perspective is throwing you off. Assuming you’re talking about the emo looking chick.

Same.

I’ve thought the prosecution really did a bad job throughout this entire trial, but it looks like the defense is fumbling the ball on the 1 yard line with this closing.

Was in the other room and have the trial on. Half expected to see this guy when I looked at the TV.

Hartpoolian doesn’t have the stamina to do this.

Dark Hair, Dark Blue jacket. She isnt sitting at the table but just behind it. Pretty sure she did some cross-examination last week.

I think that was AM’s call. I think there has been some riff between AM and Poot since AM decided to take the stand.

Miles better. Creighton Waters should be embarrassed.

Since everything is public record with the proceedings, why do we never see the jury?

Because the internet would stalk, harass, and potentially murder them based on the outcome of the trial.

Jim was really good in trial, but that was not a strong closing at all. It really needed to be, too. Meadors has been weak the little time he’s been active in trial, but he is by far the best of the three closing attorneys. Waters went on too long, but at least he was more organized than Jim.

He’s certainly shouting.

IMO, all of the closing arguments have been pretty bad. Seems like these teams have been run ragged over the past month.
