It's pretty weird to have an animal that is totally non-interactive with humans or domesticated in any sense at all as a pet.

Be honest, you think its weird because you are afraid/dont like those animals. I bet you give zero shits if someone has a fish tank.

In the video they say the Burmese python could reach NC. I just don't believe that. Just north of Orlando there are many cold winter nights when it freezes. The Burmese python will die in freezing conditions.

Perfect plan. The circle of life.

So once the pythons finish eradicating all small mammals, what will they eat? Could they eventually starve themselves to death?

People’s pets and after that they will be big enough to eat small children.

I wouldn't give a shite about any of it if it didn't result in invasive species jacking up my outdoors.

Yes, a fish tank is less weird. They're just decorative. You can't take them out and mess with them or anything.

Something like the tylenol thing could work, but then aren’t you killing native species as well?

Only if they are snakes. Mammals and birds aren't much affected by Tylenol except at extremely high doses.

Have a buddy in law enforcement who invesigates child pron/predators. He says that if they have swords or dragons displayed in their home, there's a 100% chance they are kiddie diddlers.

The whole python program is really just a ruse so they can collect fees for permits…and fine people for not having permits.

Oh really?
Tell us how much the fee is for a python hunting permit in the state of Florida?
Then let us know how much the fine is for hunting pythons without a permit.

I will give you a clue. The total rhymes with "hero"!

You're either an idiot who should know better or an a-hole spreading bullshite!

Why “Wildlife Management” is the biggest oxymoron ever.

The British tried this in Jamaica as Jamaica had a huge Jamaican adder and cane rat problem in their sugarcane fields in the 18th & 19th century. They thought, hey, we’ll just import hundreds of mongoose from our colonial dynasty in India and kill two birds with one stone.

Of course, the Mongoose took the path of least resistance and wiped out dozen of native small mammal, bird, and reptile populations. The mongoose carried ticks which were virtually unheard of in colonial Jamaica and now Jamaica has no natural predators that would feed upon ticks since the mongoose wiped out the small mammal, bird, and reptile populations.

And as an added bonus, The mongoose has become a major vector and reservoir for rabies on several Caribbean islands. The mongoose is the major carrier of leptospirosis, a deadly disease.

Moral of the story is don’t play God nor Mother Nature, but do kill every python on sight, they shouldn’t be there.

I remember my cousin's dad had a pet boa constrictor when I was a kid. He fed it a live mouse in front of me. It was kinda interesting to watch, but when the mouse started bleeding out of both nostrils I was like "nah I'm too young to be watching this shite"

Tegu

Those things worry me more than they pythons in the Everglades. They actually can thrive further north and have already began to cause issues in GA and SC.

This snake is so valued it has a stamp dedicated to it and a statue in Brazil. Couldn't find a picture of the statue.
