There’s nothing wrong with a meme but don’t post a bunch of bs false information on it then let crazy great aunt Susan repost it from Conservative Farmers fb page, followed by a comment “I TOLD YOU SO”

So you agree with the internet ruling then? Not sure your point or why you singled out misinformation on the Right.

So you think we need to ban memes because they may spread false information?

They have been fighting against Article 13 of the proposed E.U. Copyright Directive, which would place responsibility for enforcing copyright law on websites and platforms, rather than individuals.

It would mean that any website or platform that allows users to post images, footage, sound or code would have to use content recognition technologies — branded "censorship machines" by critics — to filter out just about anything that infringes on a copyright, and either prevent the platform from uploading or push it to seek licenses.

I'm far from a tech guy so I could be off base here but this would only apply to websites and platforms physically based in the EU, right? Just because TD can be accessed in Europe doesn't give the EU any authority to ask Chicken to adopt these filters, right? Or can they simply filter out non-complying websites from reaching Europe?

Are reddit and the chans US based?

I don’t pay attention to many memes but the ones that catch my mind are usually right driven and misinformed. Also, when you have a family member that shows you a meme at thanksgiving dinner about stating that Hillary is a pedophile and had a man killed in a pizza restaurant, and she truthfully believes this. That is a problem and these fb groups should be put in check for posting fake news. But like everyone is saying, I agree, it’ll be impossible to prevent this.

Ehh, I’ve seen both side of this. However both are usually a bit exaggerated.

Will never happen. Islam is already in the middle of a soft invasion that will continue. Leftists will convince themselves that it is right and proper that their countries should be Islamic.
