re: Interesting perspective on transgenderism
I have yet to meet a gay or Trans person who wasn't sexually abused as a child or exposed in someway to Explicit sexual Material at a very young age.

re: Interesting perspective on transgenderism
I agree with this

Personally I think the illness is very similar to did or multiple personality disorder and a treatment approach should be similar.

re: Interesting perspective on transgenderism
It's an intervention but not a treatment

You are basically taking an identity away and starting a new one that requires a mental health treatment

re: Interesting perspective on transgenderism
The reality is the only people that give an actual frick are loud and on the fringe.

These “transgenders” make up less than 1% of the population and we should stop talking about them and move on.

Transgenderism is a mental disorder. I have a friend who is dealing with it in his family.

Of course it is. Claustrophobia is a mental disorder, so if you think you’re born into the wrong body enough to mutilate yourself, then you most certainly qualify. It’s not an insult, or at least it shouldn’t be, to call it a mental disorder.

These people deserve all the sympathy in the world and should seek counseling. However you should not be giving hormones to kids that delay puberty and can sterilize them. Most kids suffering from gender dysphoria come to the conclusion that they were born into the right gender, so it’s insane to allow anyone under the age of 18 to do this. Once you’re 18, you can do as you wish, but even at 18 I don’t think you know who you truly are.

These horrible parents and Josef Mengele of doctors who do this to these kids are going to pay for it. I will buy that transitioning is the appropriate treatment to a small minority, but these doctors handing out these hormones and diagnosis like Skittles are going to be villains in the history book. We will look back at the way we celebrated transgenderism as the same we currently look at the lobotomy.

re: Interesting perspective on transgenderism

The reality is that gender identity and sexual orientation are locked in while the fetus is developing in the womb. There is no known way to reverse either after development is completed. I'm positive that most transgenders, and even a lot of gay people would choose to "change their minds" if that were possible.

That’s total bull shite. The environment has something to do with it. A woman could be brutally raped and then be so traumatized that she could become a lesbian. Genetics probably have something to do with it, but the environment does as well.

So it’s all about their feelings and everyone else should do whatever it is that they want to make them happy. Alrighty then

I think there is definitely a "gay" gene. Calling it an "illness" is tricky in the sense that it's not something that can be "treated",

There are many diseases related to gene dysfunction and they receive medical treatment.

Ben Shapiro references quite often the suicide rate (before and after) of transgender people. It's an important and underconsidered statistic.

re: Interesting perspective on transgenderism
Transgenderism is an interesting aspect of modern progressivism in that it asserts a form a gender essentialism. Feminism, especially 3rd wave, works against that assertion. It’s hard to see how someone could really support transgenderism and modern feminism without serious cognitive dissonance. We see it all the time today though.

Transgenderism is actually a form of the Mandela effect.

According to my extensive research, people are joining with their opposite sex version of them from another dimension.

I think some of you are confusing gay with transgender. There is a difference. Not like I'm an expert on gays or anything.

If 40% of any group is killing themselves, then there's an issue, but we're told to shut up and accept these people as normal.

Right, as they scream in our faces and insist that someone with a dick should be allowed to use the women's bathroom, your wife and daughter's feelings on the matter be damned.

The fact that we're told that people who want to mutilate their body are not only normal, but also heroic is a big issue. Normalizing, and even idolizing, destructive behavior is dangerous.

Its something we've been normalizing for many years.
