Not long before that I had been dealing with Levie in a professional capacity through his role with the coroner’s office. He went out of his way to help me. Some allegations of bad things on his part but who could know. Crazy shite there.

Coach Sonny and Coach Johnny (Brad's Dad) were , after my own father, the most influential male figures in my life. The mentored hundreds of boys and got repaid by having a maniac murder their boy. That one thought has always bothered me, the unfairness of that one fact. If you are LSU 89 like me, we are the same age so we know each other. Long live the Riveroaks Bengals. FU Bucs, Broncos, Mustangs, and other lessers....

Not a death, but one of the most shocking and unexpected incidents in recent Baton Rouge history is the abduction of the LSU sorority girl from behind the sorority house on campus and forcing her to perform sex acts on him before she was smart enough to escape into a gas station.
The kidnapper allegedly even returned to the scene to retrieve his vehicle while police were still processing the scene.
Just really unexpected and frightening all around because of the randomness of it.

Forgot about this one as well, probably top 20 notable murders in BR, maybe top 10.

The dude acted as if his life was perfect. He had a house in Shenandoah and bragged about living across the street from Justin Vincent. He came in my office plenty of times and we would sit there and talk LSU all day. I will say this about his persona. He was the whitest black man I have ever met…… it’s a shame when you throw your life away over some nookie.

What about the foreign exchange student at McKinley that went to the wrong house for a halloween party and the owner shot him thinking he was trying to break in or something?
Big McKinley. Across from Central High. I used to watch the international news stations broadcasting out of my Geometry classroom window.

Yep, I remember this about him too. That's a shame that's how his life turned out and awlful for his victims.

I vaguely remember the murder of a man that lived on Fairway Drive. I believe he might have have been a well known attorney, but not positive. Older man. I think the murder took place in his home.
This would have been many years ago, probably 35-40 years
Anybody recall this?

Donna Lynn Robillard- She was stabbed to death outside the old Bengal Lounge. fricker tried to rob her with a knife and ended up stabbing her multiple times which killed her. This one was early to mid 90s hell maybe even 89 I can't remember the details of the year or date. I remember hearing about it on the News and then a while later I ended up on the Jury for this case. Took about 30 minutes of deliberation and he went to jail for life w/o parole, with a conviction of 2nd-degree murder.
It still amazes me that I even got on the jury. I am a white man, with a strong south Mississippi accent, and back then I was very redneck. I remember when they asked me about my stance on the death penalty, I said I was all for it. Then I asked why they asked me that since the worst penalty for 2nd degree is Life.

Why is it so hard to find any info on that?
Seemed like it was solved pretty damn quickly. The hitman had a personalized license plate if I remember right.

quote:Yeah, that one was in my periphery as well. Knew the family of the manager who was shot but not killed. I think the place was called "Cajun Kitchen" or something like that. Cajun was in the name, I know that much. Buffet style IIRC and located over near the Broadmoor Theater. I think it was 3 people shot, 2 killed, with our family's acquaintance being rendered a quadriplegic. Lost track of them over time, but I think the "survivor" eventually died. Guy was a fairly recent newlywed with at least one newborn kid when it happened. Tough, tough situation.
a former employee of a chicken restaurant went back and tied everyone up to rob the place, and killed the manager and maybe another employee execution style.

Yes. River Oaks Bengals. Coach Sonny and Johnny (brothers) were coaches.
Did you happen to go to River Oaks? I did from 1-6 even though I lived down Highland Rd due to my mother being the secretary there. I also played BREC for the PeeWee and Junior Perkins Park Eagles. My dad coached the Senior Eagles.

He worked for you at the time it happened?? I somewhat, and I agree with that assessment. Big smile on his face most of the time I ever saw him.

Melissa Caruso murdered by Kyle Manda of the Manda Meats family.I think he shot her in his apartment after they broke up.
Kyle was around our group of friends here and there. Always heard stories of how he would act crazy but funny enough he was always completely chilled when he hung around us.

quote: Kip Gullet’s murder. 91 or so. LSU student carjacked on campus. Tortured. Shot. Burned 93. I went to high school with him. The mother of one of the murderers brought his SUV to the levee and set it on fire to hide evidence. Kip's parents ended up on Geraldo.
This is the one I think about. Happened a year or so after I graduated. And he was from Pineville. Literally could have been me.
