Lucknow: Yogendra Upadhyay has triggered discussion after reportedly raising objections to the popular English nursery rhyme “Rain Rain Go Away,” saying its message may not align with Indian cultural values.
During an interaction with the media, the minister is said to have questioned whether the poem, which asks the rain to go away so that “Little Johnny” can play, sends an appropriate message in a country where rainfall is closely linked to agriculture and is traditionally welcomed.
Upadhyay suggested that educational content should reflect Indian traditions and cultural sensibilities. He reportedly argued that asking rain to “go away” could be seen as inconsistent with the importance attached to monsoon rains in India.

Yes because historically speaking farming is unique to India

Good to see that woke retardedness is not just limited to the united states.

Don’t have a problem with this if this is applied equally (it won’t be)

You just don’t get it bro. Little Johnny is a spoiled rich little white kid who doesn’t rely on agriculture. His daddy owns a business. If he had his way, he’d shut down farming just so he could play outside.

The other week there was an Indian official who was saying that he doesn’t use deodorant, or AC in either the office or the car. You just need to carry an onion in your pocket. And others should do the same.

Yogendra, you so mean,
Go ask for bobs and vagene,
Curry and, B.O. man,
Go and run another scam.

Body oder is a national emergency. If he would have addressed that he would have been applauded

In fairness I don't really see this as woke. It sounds stupid, but then, it's not my country and I don't care.
"An English nursery rhyme doesn't align with our values and we should replace it with our own stuff" - fine by me

What’s next?
“Kids singing “Ring around the Rosie” is insensitive because people still routinely die of the plague in our third world country”

I think Rain Rain Go Away could as accurately apply to the amount of public urination/defecation seen on a daily basis in India.

Because it washes away all of their precious street turds.
