For those of you into automotive spyshots.
GM has used solid rear axle up to this point.

What does this mean to me the driver of the vehicle

Good news for all those nola soccer moms dodging pot holes on a regular basis

Independent rear suspension is good but it needs that AND positraction otherwise there's no way it could make the tire marks that were left outside the Sack-O-Suds.

It will just be a matter of time (1 model year) until this moves to the Silverado and Sierra. Ram has already proven that for the average guy with a half ton the independent suspension provides a superior ride to the solid axle. I’m not 100% on board but with current technology we shouldn’t lose any capability.

Rams don't have rear independent suspension. They have a coil link solid axle. Which typically ride better than leaf spring rear axles.

Meh. This is soccer mom material. Maybe not quite Pathfinder level, but I doubt you'd catch two yutes running to the convenience store in one. Put coils on the solid axle if ride is the paramount concern. Maybe it's just time we all start driving LTDs and Delta 88s again and really float down the road.

The greatest ride of all time....

I wish they would give the option to remove or delete the third row seat

The problem is price and competition.
Their pricing is ridiculous for what you get.
It's to the point now where there is zero point in getting either in favor of the QX80. Because once you equip the GM product to similar levels, it's more than the base qx80.
Not to mention everything is sound proof in the qx80 vs the GM.

I mean... I guess you could really like the plastic dashboard and brushed pewter...

But the Infiniti is atrocious looking from the outside. I was very impressed with the interior, but can't get over the exterior.

Not the biggest fan in the exterior either, but the interior and ride are the best I have driven for the price.

2019 got the redesign.
But I went from hating the previous generation to loving it.
It feels exactly like first class in an airliner.

Just don’t frick up the ride. The Suburban and Tahoe ride really well.

The QX80s I’ve driven were kind of disappointing. Wind leaks, older style infotainment, and bad handling. They exterior styling is atrocious too.
The front seats were awesome though. Comfy.

Same good ride, more interior space since the differential’s placement is static.

The Infinity is, by far, the best looking large SUV on the market. Especially compared to the current “hearse” styling of GMC/Chevy.
