No, that's a concept car or something.

if they are quieter now, something is terribly wrong with the 80 or GM has massively improved in the last two years

GM has something like 70% market share for full sized and luxury SUVs. They are clearly doing something right. They better not frick things up with an independent rear suspension or risk pissing off their loyal buyers.

And the last Infiniti QX80 I drove felt cheap and came with a gas guzzling engine with the sound quality of a blender full of bolts.

I hope it works better than the independent rear suspension on the Navigator. That is one ill handling POS.

Almost every Navigator I see has one or more blown out shock, causing it to tilt/lean as it goes down the road.

Those things have been a joke for a while. They only just now started putting some effort into them.

Oh GM knows what it's doing - consumers want more luxury in exchange for ruggedness. That's the reality.

Chevrolet, GMC, Land Rover/Range Rover, and Jeep have been pretty good about keeping some off road hardware available for those that want them.

The Z71 Tahoe is actually a pretty good rig.

That transmission has not been used for around 8 years.
However, yes they were crap.
