"The wounded man’s wife told New Orleans police that the couple overheard the younger man – who police later identified as McClain -- talking on his cellphone, saying that police had a warrant for his arrest and that he couldn’t go home because police were there, the affidavit states.

The 49-year-old man “then laughed,” the affidavit states, prompting the man on the cellphone to turn to the 49-year-old man and tell him, “Man, there’s nothing funny. Do you want me to pop you?”

The affidavit states the wounded man’s wife told police that her husband responded, “You going to pop me in front of the store?” Then the younger man, “replied, ‘Yeah!!!’ at which point he produced a small black handgun, which he held in his right hand, and shot the victim,” the affidavit states."
