I’ve seen several of these up close, and I’m sincerely praying for you and your family. From the ones I’ve witnessed, know that it may be able to save your marriage and family and get beyond this. Admitting the mistakes and counseling is the key. If you can get beyond it for the kids and spare them the heartbreak and trauma that certainly comes from a bitter divorce and fighting. God bless you and your family.
I got to the part where it wasn’t “consummated” and that is certainly interesting. It could help in the long run.

People frick up. It happens every single day. It doesn’t make it right, but it’s reality. I think the main thing is that people are actually contrite for their actual actions and not getting caught.
It will never be the same between you and your wife but I pray that both of y’all find peace at some point whatever the eventual outcome of the marriage is. I also pray that those kids are sheltered from the brunt of the fallout.
I hope it works out for the best for all of you.

You don't love your wife and just wanted a way out. You didn't have the stones to tell your wife upfront you wanted out so you sabotaged your marriage, hoping now your wife ends it.
