I have friends and coworkers in the Marina/PG area. It's gotten crazy expensive for rentals. The Ramada in Marina has decent rates, not fancy but a fairly well managed hotel. Traffic is terrible. It got more crowded during covid when Silicon Valley workers went mostly remote and fanned out. If you want something like that with a nice bay and cool summers but still somewhat affordable, take a look around Eureka/Arcata. It's a 6 hour drive from SF though. Buy life flight insurance.

Unfortunately, they aren't immune to the homeless issues that plague the rest of the state

been here for a few days, and honestly, haven't seen all that much homelessness in the city... IMO, SF is much, much worse for homelessness, and I actually like SF, so i'm not trying to take a cheap shot, but it's just true

Move to the rain shadow parts of the state on the water and it’ll be more enjoyable .

SD doesn't have anything comparable to LA skid row or SF tenderloin, but SD downtown homelessness reminds me of Seattle (pre-pandemic/summer of love)

Anywhere along the Southern and central California coast. San Diego to Monterrey.

Prob San Diego, the most expensive city at the moment.

Good luck or just do what the enlightened do and be a homeless beach bum. It’s easy to survive there, they will feed you.

Downtown Seattle is basically Thunderdome but there are parts of Washington State that I really like. It is hard to drive around Gig Harbor and not want to move to that area.

Easy answer for me is hell no. when my friends up there actually celebrate a warm day of sunshine I know it’s not a place for me.

The record high on this date was 104 set back in 1902

Today’s high is 91

What did people do back then without Air Conditioning like we have these days?

Well, judging by pics it appears there weren't many fat bastards so that probably helped a bit.

I’d say the NC piedmont for variety.

Eh... as much as I love NC, it's basically the same as Atlanta and the Deep South. Hot as hell in the summer, mild winter.

San Francisco.

You’ll get downvotes bc SFO is a liberal hellhole.

However, I could live in that climate year round. Cool mornings, warms up in parts of town during the day, cool again at night. Fog rolls in and cools things off. Eucalyptus and redwoods grow everywhere so the air smells amazing (when not tainted with poop and weed).
No mosquitos or other bugs. Seriously, we should all move there and clean the place up, the climate is amazing.

The question wasn't about culture.

I prefer Los Alamos myself. About 2,000 feet higher and much greener. People are friendly and area is like Mayberry in 2023
