We should have dropped the bomb on China in 1951. The world would be much better off today.

It sure changed Japan's way of thinking.
As Bocephus would say, it was an attitude adjustment.

Between Patton and MacArthur, Patton was the more correct one.

And Russia wouldn’t have done shite. They would never have risked their necks over a bunch of chinamen. Truman blew it.

Professor Turgeson going postal on Rodney Dangerfield. My favorite scene from a hilarious movie

Truman was one of the worst presidents ever.
Gave us the CIA as well.

MacArthur wanted to use nukes like we use artillery.

We should have nuked their arse. Amazing Truman was such a pussy after being the one to green light it against the Japs.

Right about killing Red Chinamen, wrong about openly disobeying the president's orders.

Harry Truman might not have been perfect but he had the nuts to drop those bombs, saving thousands upon thousands of US servicemen.

It should also noted that the bomb drop saved thousands upon thousands of Japanese as well.
After what happened in Okinawa you can only imagine what a land invasion would have done to the civilians of Japan.

We didn’t have enough left in the tank to tussle with China and the Soviet Union after winning in the pacific.
Mac’s over estimation of our military capability at that time would be proven in Korea.
Truman was right about our ability to wage further war on such a massive scale, but MacArthur’s warnings of communism sweeping through Asia was dead on.

Part of which was his own fault. Troops from his command in Japan were the first to be thrown into battle and they were woefully undertrained and unprepared. (Reading a book on the Korean War now)
Saying that, the drawdown after the end of WWII was almost as epic as the buildup during.
