Crazy thing is we completely emasculated Japan.
They haven’t been involved in a military action of any kind since WW2.

No thank you. I'd prefer to live in the fantasy world I have built for myself where China is nuked and all the bullfrogs are dead.

MacArthur was completely off the rails at the end of his career.

Obviously.
Most of you queens live that fantasy.

We should have dropped the bomb on China in 1951. The world would be much better off today.
Nah.
Should have listened to Churchill and gone after Moscow.

It sure changed Japan's way of thinking.
No it didnt.
Humility and accepting defeat and taking your lumps has always been Japanese. They are an honorable people.
China wouldnt just be like "good game" the way Japan did.
Japan>China and it aint CLOSE.

If we would’ve fought the bad guys in ww2 instead of the good guys we’d be driving space cars and there’d be no drag queen story hour

You clearly don’t know who El Gaucho is despite being here for 7 years. His entire shtik is posting troll comments for as many years as he’s been here. Probably the longest running troll commenter on the OT

I get that, my joke was that his troll comment is humorously close to many people's genuine opinions.
An ongoing trend in all online communication is that distinguishing between satire, sarcasm, and sincerely held opinions has become all but impossible without context.

I agree the poli board is crazy but I wouldn’t say quite that far to actually praising Nazi Germany. There are some however that would’ve preferred we stayed out of Europe all together

wtf? there was a jap murdering civilians in the Pacific until the 1970s or something when they had to find his commanding officer from ww2 to get him to surrender

Oh. I thought you were going to say he was right when he let his air force get destroyed on the ground in the Phillipines despite having 24 hours warning. Or when he dithered for days instead of ordering the already-planned reinforcement of the Bataan Peninsula. Or that he was right about ignoring his own intel reports that the Chinese were about to cross the Yalu River in overwhelming force. Or that he was right in his rank insubordination to his commander in chief.
You meant he was right in his advocacy of massively escalating the Korean conflict, in direct contradiction of his prior maxim about never getting involved in a land war in Asia. I guess we'll never know.

Like I said most don’t agree with in the first place. I think they wanted Europe to be left to do their own thing

So one crazy Japanese Rambo is more representative thank not only the whole country currently but an actual commanding officer in the very same story lol

Would have resulted in Communism sweeping through all of Europe. The Soviets were turning the tide even without American help. But I get what you're saying about poliboard people. As for the MacArthur thing, I think Truman was correct. While it would be nice if we didn't have the Chinese Communist problem, we should have propped up the Nationalists before it was too late. If we nuked the Yalu River it would have set a dangerous precedent that nukes could be used as conventional weapons.
