Perfect response. Still no evidence, facts, stats. Nothing.

I'm glad you believe in calling black people that n-word. That's so progressive and tolerant of you.

I also appreciate you taking a piece of my comment and then using it out of context. When it comes to race relations, nobody in America is specifically targeting and oppressing another race. The idea of systematic racism is complete bullshite. How is it that African migrants can come to America and kick arse, but those who have been here for hundreds of years are still living in absolute shithole neighborhoods with no hope in sight? If America was holding down black people, the Africans would be broke as frick, too.

The segment of America that actively hopes that black people do not succeed is so small and powerless, it's a joke to even consider them a threat. Everybody I know, including myself, want to see everyone in America succeed, but many don't want to succeed and they then turn to throwing the racism card to deflect blame for being pieces of shite.

Did the newer African immigrants have to fight the fight that native blacks in America did? They are still discriminated against, but choose to ignore it.

LINK
quote:

Do black immigrants encounter discrimination and racism? At the same time, however, black immigrants face particular challenges and risks. For example, a report by the Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI) and NYU School of Law researchers found that DACA applicants from predominantly black countries are less likely to be approved than applicants from other countries. Moreover, black immigrants are more likely than other immigrants to be deported when they have a criminal conviction. Although black immigrants constitute only about 7.2 percent of foreign-born noncitizens in the United States, they make up more than 20 percent of noncitizens facing deportation on criminal grounds. [This is why Congress will have a hard time legalizing DACA] The lesson of these statistics is that black immigrants face problems rooted in structural racism that are similar to those faced by native-born blacks. The elevated status that comes with being a foreign-born black person is not enough to overcome the broader forces of discrimination

Not really.

It's no secret that blacks are far more irresponsible when it comes to carrying drugs.

quote:

“The race issue isn’t just that the judge is going, ‘Oh, black man, I’m gonna sentence you higher,’” she said. “The police go into low-income minority neighborhoods and that’s where they make most of their drug arrests. If they arrest you, now you have a ‘prior,’ so if you plead or get arrested again, you’re gonna have a higher sentence. There’s a kind of cumulative effect.”

I think this sentence explains the real reason for the disparity and the author doesn't even realize it. Sounds like these guys aren't just getting prison sentences for a dime bag.

Well when white officers are given white citizens passes, by just taking the drugs and reselling it or using it themselves, and not arresting them, it provides the privilege of not having a prior. Does that makes sense to you? Many on this board have stated that they have themselves received that privilege. Hell one guy here said his coke dealer is a cop.

More baseless nonsense. Does that happen occasionally? Sure. Does it happen to the point where it changes statewide or nationwide statistics? Absolutely not.

No, because it's a terrible, baseless argument that you can't prove.

You call it baseless and then acknowledge it happens Pretty hard to provide statistical evidence when there are no reports in existence to go off of since there are no documented reports.

I'm sure you can connect the dots from the links I've provided, but why do that when you can just deflect

Obviously you don't. Collecting the data of those that have admitted to it and using it as a small sample size allows you to project it on a larger scale.

This has never happened to myself and I've never heard of it happening to anyone I know. I'm sure it occasionally happens but it's definitely nowhere near commonplace.

lets just say for sake of argument this is a real problem and common...how does that excuse the high rate of crimes black people are committing? instead of always deflecting and using a problem that is minuscule at best why not face the real issue hurting black people in this country...other black people?

I said that saying it happens often enough to affect statistics in any sort of meaningful way is baseless. If you have data that proves me wrong, I'd be happy to see it. The fact that you're basing your argument on that explains a lot about you

Well have you ever been arrested for drug possession by a white officer?

Multiple times in my younger days. Every single time I was caught I was arrested.

His policies are the entire basis for the war on drugs. He created the DEA. We spend an estimated 51 billion dollars a year on drug enforcement and for what? Where is the ROI? How are they preventing drugs from entering this country? We have been at this for 4 decades and yet there is no end in sight. We need to reconsider how we treat drugs in this country. Legalization of some kind or a combination of decriminalization and treatment needs to be considered. The problem is I just advocated for taking on the DEA, the private prison business, and the pharmaceutical companies.

It doesn't, but it shows that blacks are being treated unfairly. If we both do the same crime we both should be punished the same. You should be arrested just as me, but that isn't always the case and that is the problem.

But it does happen enough. If blacks are given harsher sentences than whites, basically whites getting preferential treatment in the court room, isn't it logical to assume that they will get that same preferential treatment when encountering police officers? Do you assume that disparity in the justice systems begins and ends in the court room?

I actually do, but I digress. Anything can be manipulated to achieve the outcome that is desired. Not reporting certain crimes definitely skews the numbers.
