Yeah, you're always going to have idiots (both white and black) who engage in that type of pointless "whataboutism." Hell, the wording of this thread title is a good case in point. That stuff is silly.

But yeah those ethnocentrists who try to paint their heritage as always being righteous victims are annoying. Every civilization on this planet has done fricked up shite to another (including slavery) at some point.

The USA is one if the few that has gone above and beyond to right those wrongs. And did it in a ridiculously short period of time, by world standards.

No, it's not utopia. No place on this earth ever will be. There's always room for improvement. But the rhetoric today from the aggrieved both trivializes the incredible progress that has been made, and retards future improvement by drawing silly battle lines. Some of the reactions to such silliness is also detrimental, obviously.

Crazy part is I don't see this nearly as much on a micro, day to day level as media/social media portrayals would lead one to believe. My life/relationships with white and black folks have remained pretty much the same over the years.

I think he is mistaken to a degree here. I do believe most white violent crime (including murders) victims are a attacked by whites. But I seem to remember seeing stats that when it comes to interracial crime, it is far more likely that a white person is victimized by a black person than a black person is victimized by a white person.
