Had a general contractor stop outside my house today as I was in the driveway doing some stuff and walk up and give me his card trying to hustle business. Asking if we knew anyone that needed work done. I watched him go drop off cards at all the neighbors houses as well. Nice guy with a nice branded GMC HD and branded polo shirt and hat. A short while ago GC’s were too busy to even come give quotes. Now with record low home sales volume they’re driving around looking for business.

Did he also have a freezer in the back of his truck selling 10 ribeyes for $20?

Cold calling is a bad sign.

So are all the RVs and boats on the side of the road for sale.

Home construction has cratered. COVID boom of home updates as well.

Prices are sky high for everyday essentials. Even if you have money you are not spending.

Things are just very unsettled with the job losses

Tell Fort Bend County Assessment District that during the last oil crash that said, "Market value is not indicative of assessed value." Nobody cares that 100k in Houston lost their jobs, assessments up 10%! (state max) DFW doesn't do this.

Part of it may be the overall economy.

But I think a big contributor is that a lot of people are sitting on sub-3% mortgages from covid times and aren’t moving unless they absolutely have to.

I don’t care what kind of economy it is, but aren’t small businesses supposed to hustle for business? Isn’t that how they turn into large businesses.

The effects of the massive spending during the COVID lockdown, as well as the hit on the job market, is still hurting the economy. Housing mortgage rates are not near the 3-4% range they were years ago.

It will not be fixed in this administration’s 1st year. This was done to us on purpose - to cause global destabilization. NWO behind it all

WTF is wrong with you? Trump has only been in office for 6 months. Groceries and everything else double in price 3 years ago.

As a person that is in a 2.9% mortgage …

I’m 42 in a house I bought in 2008 and remodeled/refinanced in 2020 that is plenty of house but not over the top.

Why would I move?

Now boomers in a 2500 sq foot house valued above $1mm that are just the two of them… that’s different
