New scope, Leupold VX-3HD CDS-ZL 4.5-14x40, kept getting discount ads from Academy sports so went online to look at rifles, but the 20% off couldn’t be used on guns or ammo, noticed the Leupold 4.5-14 deal for $599, used the 20% off, got it for $480, shipped free. Been watching those off and on for awhile, finally caught a decent deal, I rarely shoot over 500 yards so it should do all I need for a very long time, my last Leupold was a 3.5-10x40, it’s 36 years old, currently in use and still stacking clover leafs.

Can’t recall. Ask anyone that knows me and they will tell you that I am one cheap bastard. Definitely don’t buy things I don’t have a very specific need for or buy things on a whim.

If you are a hot sleeper, as that implies, the active water cooling setups are game changers. We have a Chilipad, but there are others. Sleep 8 can do the pillows too, but their systems require a subscription, and I am super picky about the feel of my pillow, so we haven't really considered it.

Bought a Minolta X-700 last Friday on a whim. I was at the film lab dropping some stuff off, and they had it sitting there for $50. The action was smooth, and the light meter appeared fairly on target, so I said "frick it," and grabbed it. First non-Canon camera I've owned.
