Drove a brand new one about a year ago. Lots of power, but not a crazy muscle car type. Felt great inside too, but also felt like it wouldn't age well.

Saying it felt cheap isn't fair, just didn't seem refined.

I've had 2 Nissan Maximas. The first was a 2004 that my wife drove for 10 years. Never had one problem and rode great. I bought her another one in 2015 and have had the same results. I drive a Nissan Murano and it is a great highway SUV. Say what you want, Nissan makes a good vehicle.

There were problems with the first ones, I’ve read. They’re much improved.

Everybody bitches about the CVT but my SIL has a ‘13 Altima loaded 3.5 and it’s very fast and comfy for a sedan. She bought it new, it now has 155K miles on it and has not had one single issue with the transmission (for that matter any other issues). Gas brakes tires very regular oil changes.... in other words, proper maintenance. I don’t get all the hate for Nissan on this board.

What if I told you Nissan owns a controlling stake of Mitsubishi?

Everyone always shits on their CVTs but I’m going on 215k on my 08 Altima and never had an issue

My wife has a 13 Pathfinder with 85k and it’s never been in the shop

The Maxima is a cool car. It has lots of standard features that you don’t get in other cars

I really like their interiors. They designed it to mimic a cockpit.

Even Altima’s are decent rentals. Had a ‘14 Rogue and the CVT went Rogue at 90k.

I had a POS Sentra that died exactly at 100k miles but I have a pathfinder coming up on 150k and I’ve had 0 issues with it other than minimal routine maintenance. It’s very a very hardy vehicle

Nissan never should've jumped into the sack with Renault.
Renault brought them down.

I just rented a car for a work trip....happens to be a practically new Nissan with 700 miles. What a massive piece of shite that car already is. Feels like the transmission is about to go at any moment.

I rented one while visiting family in Nashville and took it out to rural Central Tennessee and then on to visit some TN State Parks in and had a blast dogging it on lonely winding back roads. Handles well and pretty quick.... Too small for me for the day to day but would rent again.
