You see, my son doesn't have a social security number. I've mentioned this on here before and was called an insane person, an idiot and a number of other things. But... there is no requirement or law for anyone, anywhere to sign up for social security. It simply doesn't exist, despite what you might belive. Not only that, It's is against the law for any state agency, employee or any federal agency or employee to refuse to let you enjoy any right or privelege because you don't have one.
Why doesn't he have a Social security number? If he want's to get one, he's perfectly free to do so. I'm not signing my son up for a federal investment program that offers horrible returns that he can't opt out of, ever. If he wants to do this, he's more than capable as an adult.
Yea that ain’t the hill to die one chief. Not sure how you skirt the issue of not having an SSN. I was pretty sure that you were given one when your birth was registered. You’re just making your kids life infinitely more complicated
Every single thing that requires a SSN will be a fight for you because of
Your bullshite stance. Not sure what power you think the government has over you by having a SSN. Perhaps moving to Montana and living in a bunker might better suit your needs

Now I understand why you are no longer a business owner.
You’re overcomplicating it for absolutely no reason. From the employer perspective, the entire cost is considered Payroll expense. The payroll taxes employers pay is a payroll expense, it is not the wage of an employee.

First hearing got pushed at the request of the state. More to come…

Keep us posted. I'm curious how it's going to turn out.

So your kid still doesn’t have his learner’s permit?
How much money has your freedom quest cost the taxpayers of Louisiana?

Yall remember when he said something like "this is not causing any undue stress or inconvenience to my son" ...what an F'ing idiot. This guy decides to fight the federal govt at the expense of using his child as a pawn in his own personal grievance. I'm 100% confident if anyone asked his son how he feels about it he'd say...yeah my dad is an idiot and made my life harder than it needs to be.

If you don’t have a SSN do you still have to pay FICA?
Pretty sure you still pay FICA.

Yes you still have it withheld. It just doesn’t get credited to your name.

Simple question... Should the state/DMV be required to follow the laws like they absolutely required you to, or should they get to break them because it's convenient?

The state is not following their own laws so it may cost them all of it before it's over. You may want to move to The 'Sip now, before taxes go up to cover the state's lawbreakers.

I hope this heroic quest keeps you warm and entertained later on in your life when you haven’t seen or heard from your son in 20 years

Simple question…what harm has been caused to you or your son that needs a court to rectify?
I wish you luck in your freedom fight but please stop wasting my tax money on your idiocy.

With the recent litigation against chicken, can we get an update on this?

This.
I think this is an absolutely ridiculous thing to do but I’m really interested in how it turns out.

I have tried reading thru the entire thread (I really wish I hadnt, but here we are). The most basic of nutshells is the OP has no legal issue with a SSN in general and is only concerned that the DMV follow the letter law regarding a SSN. That is what he is saying on the surface.
As a believer and staunch advocate in following the letter of the law, he then contradicts himself numerous times by stating he wishes not to impose on his son a SSN because he questions WHY the laws regarding the SS system as investment vehicle in this country are so harmful and doesn't want to make his son a burden to these laws.
So, which is it? Letter of the law good or letter of the law bad?
