According to some of the board experts, incarceration doesn’t work. Probably would if done right and not catering to the pussies.
Longest prison sentence should be 10 years.
Of course, the prison I’m envisioning would have like a 0% survival after 7 years

Home Depot is the worst
It's just as much a pain that so much stuff is simply not restocked and on top shelves as simply locked up.
What would take you 1 minute to get at an ACE Hardware can take 45 at Home Depot.

Don't think that really matters any more. Go try to buy one of those small round/flat batteries for a remote and you have to get the clerk to unlock the case since those little batteries are selling for $8 and up. Same for some OTC meds in many cases.
Costco in N.O. keeps their premium top-shelf liquors locked up.

A lot of this type stuff has always been behind the counter or "top shelf" as the name implies.
It's just that these mega stores have no one working there to hand it to you.

You wanna be like Singapore?

I've heard law enforcement people say prison is university for criminals. This should be fairly easy for a criminologist to prove or disprove. My take, if true, is corporal punishment for early offenses and if that doesn't work assume they're inherently criminal and a detriment to society and should be locked up until they're too old to be criminal.
That’s the issue. The sniveling pussies have made prison a country club. Commit a crime, frick their rights. Bread and water. If they want to be arse raped, let them, repeatedly. Maybe, just maybe they might not screw up again. Seems to me they like taking it up the tailpipe.

Society catered to those that should have been shamed and culled.

I’ll take Singapore over a low-trust society that ends up surveilling and scoring the people who actually follow the rules.

Asked about that one day and was told “they be huffin dat paint an fallin out” is reason it’s locked up.

we traded a high trust society for diversity. It was a terrible trade.
They are not even really diverse. 90% of them vote one way. They're only diverse in origins not ideology.

Don't shop in stores in ghetto areas
unfortunately it's not just in ghetto areas.
once Landry's ban on energy drinks from SNAP went into effect a few months ago, countless stores had to start locking down their energy drinks due to them easily being stolen because of their small size.
it doesn't matter if that Red Bull can is only $2 ... it's not "FREE" anymore, so therefor the Democrat-voting, scum of society will steal it.

Put someone in one of these for 48 for shoplifting... and you can bet things will change fast...
Man have we gotten so soft...

I was in Tokyo this year. People don’t even lock their bicycles up when they leave them on the sidewalk.
Want to know what they are missing?

DeWalt tools at Lowes - if they wanna lock them up fine, but standing around 20 minutes while employees are milling around looking at their phones triggered me.
I feel ya on that. Home Depot over the past few years has done the same; damn near everything is in a cage.

I am exiled in Corpus Christi and have no other choice.
It ain’t paradise here, but it’s objectively much better than BR and NO metro, and you can probably extend that into Mississippi.
The ghetto here is a different color.
