Dude. Don’t you know how pastors work? They pray about stuff. Do a couple of lines of blow. Stay at the Ritz Carlton while on vacation. Do some more blow. Pray about stuff. And then beg for money.

ALWAYS donate to local non profits in YOUR community. The money makes a huge difference. Find out which ones get to keep 100% of their donations in house, so you know they are directly impacting your community. I always support a few of the following in my area:
Boys and Girls Club - great after school programs for kids that don't have anywhere to go. Literally keeps kids off the streets.
Haven House and/or battered womens shelter- shelter for young women who are abandoned/orphaned without notice
Children's Advocacy Alliance - fund to help support local abused children.
If you ever get a chance to tour/speak with the folks that run these NPO's, your mind will change drastically.
Most churches have plenty of funds and are full of people that are doing find in life. Give it to those who truly need, locally.

If you're looking to donate to 2 TRUE local non profits, here are 2. Yes I am affiliated with both.
Clash of the Cooks: Local group of friends who got together to raise money for a friend/brother who was diagnosed with cancer. The whole group does their part after they get off their normal job. We are going into our 4th year. 100% of the profits from the event goes to local Baton Rouge area families battling cancer.
Upside Downs: My youngest daughter has Down Syndrome and this group raises money for many different activities and scholarships for children in the area with Down Syndrome.
So if you're tired of not seeing and knowing where you're money goes, these are 2 local ones.

I donate to local animal rescues and Children's Hospital. All of the larger national charities are too vague about their practices.

I don't know if that is still done or allowed, but it was big with the mega churches in Louisiana before Katrina.
Which ones? The three largest I know of did not do that (HPC, Bethany, and Istrouma).

Several years ago I visited the RC office in DC. Like a palace. Never given them a thought after that
At one point, they owned something like 5 or 6 multimillion "vacation homes" across the world that only certain people and their political crony friends could use.
I'm not sure if they still do that as there were some investigations into their activities.

How do you know your pastor is making $300k? I’d be curious to know how much mine makes.

"But pastor I can't afford to give 10 percent of what I make to the church."
"No son, you can't afford not to."

Then stop doing it.
There, that was easy. Problem solved!

I’m done donating
Ah, I see you came to the same conclusion. Well done.

I donate to non profit charities every year but yet, they are always out of supplies, out of money, or my Church does a damn expansion with 60” wide TVs and shite. Not to mention, my pastor who I love by the way banks in $300,000 a year along with Church staff making more bank then me. I’m done donating
Simple solution: quit donating money to churches. They have an exceptionally long track record of caring more about personal wealth than anything else.
