When the plan is to get drunk on a summer day and I gotta walk to the pool with my cooler, you bet your arse I'm gonna have more beer than food in the cooler.

Hot dogs, brats, sausage, boudin, etc is just easier.

Oh that's nasty.

Ad is doing what its makers were paid to do, generate buzz.

That’s what I always do. We make our own sausage so there’s never an excuse to have that flavorless, gross crap on the grill, and certainly not with guests.

I make my own burgers, my own sausage, my own fries. It’s just so much better. Reading the list of stuff that goes into processed grill meats is disturbing

There is good buzz and there is bad buzz. And this commercial didn’t generate the good kind.

Gillette isn't the first company to roll out a social message in an ad. History has shown us thay sales figures are rarely moved in any significant way.

Yeah, I'd have to guess that anyone pulling stunts like this is pretty comfortable with their place in their market. You don't see a lot of struggling small companies doing this shite, as they have a lot more to lose.

At the end of the day, is the average retired lady buying razors in CVS going to pass up the Gilette BOGO sale for this? Doubt it.

Getting a little tired of people trying to make me feel guilty because I’m a white guy

Pretty sad that you let the people make you feel bad for being a white male and now you’re making your son feel bad for being a white male. I’m going to pray for you.

It's possible this will be the first major impact on sales, but I find that to be unlikely.
What amazed Scruffy is that, at a time where razor sales are already low, they still felt that this was an acceptable risk to take.

This “beards are in” period seems to be the time to lay low.

it will be interesting to see, could have a wild impact on the market, from both sides, I'm a mercenary when it comes to investing, could be times, they are a changing

Dude, this. I just realized how easy it is to make you own ground sausage (like Jimmy Dean esq). Don't know why I never thought of it before.

You can even use the same seasonings/ingredients with ground chicken or turkey if you're trying to cut calories without buying the weird versions of turkey sausage in stores.

DISGUSTING PIG -- MANSPLAINING TO HER IN FRONT OF YOUR CHILD.

Your post is ignorant. NOBODY is promoting the things you claim you are so superior to be against.

NOBODY wants their sons to treat women poorly.

Sounds like you are actively trying to send your child down a "non" masculine path.

Good luck with that.

I only buy the stuff where the animals are raised fully clothed, live on AstroTurf and fed organic moon grown grain from the dark side of the moon. You can't be too safe

If you look at the links that were posted earlier, you’ll notice that the brands that are cheaper have been steadily increasing in market share.

Gillette still has a commanding lead, but it has been shrinking over the previous decade.

seems like sparking a little controversy might be a risk worth taking

Their stuff is so expensive. I use them on my neck (beautiful bearded dude) and a three pack of refills cost like $18

We will see, but for the first time, I do suspect a company may regret this.

Exactly. When making a commercial you’ve got to ask yourself “will this commercial make my customers more likely or less likely” buy my product?”. And even more importantly ”will this commercial make people who don’t currently buy my product more likely to try my product”?.

How in the world did anyone at Gillette think this commercial would have a positive answer to either of those questions?

We made 650 lbs of sausage last year,

Probably will make over 1000 this year with more people getting a taste and wanting it.

It’s hard work but so satisfying knowing exactly what goes into your meat and where it comes from. Like planting and growing your own vegetables
