I like you but you're on a message board arguing about it
Your signaling of being "above the fray" is laughably sad in this regard

, there’s no way to not see how this ad was a disaster and whoever made and approved it is an idiot.
this, if I was a shareholder I would consider this borderline, if not outright, fiduciary irresponsibility, I've got zero problem if they get on some kind of bandwagon and put some absurd tripe in ads that makes the stock go through the roof, but if they make some ridiculous unnecessary edgy, social conscious bs statement that causes stocks to tank and customers to drop the product, well, frick them

If he's making messican street corn, I'll give him a pass. That shite is delicious.

There's definitely a black father joke here

The kaep ad had the same freakout, but the numbers showed it worked.
The conservative mafia that said they would never buy nike again, never bought nike to start
They shopped at academy and were buying Magellan brand and shite
This is different

The discussion here is at least mildly interesting, IMO.

Hence why I said I think it'll be bad. I'm just saying don't go off the outrage, go off the numbers.

Scruffy didn’t even notice that.

Hey man, you're consistent. Fight for the trannies and against toxic masculinity. Virtue signaling at its finest.

Look at it this way. Let’s say you have a company making a product where over half your customer base is African-American and the rest is Caucasian Americans. Your marketing department head comes to you with an ad that is 30 seconds of showing examples of and talking about about all the negative stereotypes of the black community. And the final message of the commercial tells your black customers to “do better”. Would you greenlight that ad?

The Kaep ad was different though. Nike's target market wasn't really insulted by the ad, and I'm not talking about race only.
That being said, as often is the case, I doubt sales numbers will be impacted in any meaningful way.
