I don't think most of us object, but you will be made fun of.

Of course it’s needed Scruff...how else will the proggies show how very woke and concerned they are?

Then what's the objection to people who respond to that with "haha, frick off, I'll shop elsewhere"?
I have no objection other than their need to virtue signal their "boycott" in response

But don’t you agree that from a business standpoint it’s pretty stupid to try and boost sales from a smaller demographic of your customer base by insulting your largest customer base?
only if the larger base finds it insulting
Well, if you’ve been paying attention the last couple of days and the overwhelming negative reaction to the Gillette ad, you’d realize that the larger customer based has indeed been insulted.
Look, I don’t give a shite about the “social message” aspect of this thing. I don’t even use their razors. I’m talking strictly about the business aspect of the issue and the effect this ad will have on their overall sales. Unless you’re totally ignorant about how business and marketing works, there’s no way to not see how this ad was a disaster and whoever made and approved it is an idiot.

But I feel like I must have watched a different commercial than all of you because what I saw was a commercial saying exactly that: not all men. They were basically saying, "Hey, men. We know that not all men are shitbags. We agree with you. So when you see a man being a shitbag, call him out." Is this all that wild to people? I mean, I knew dudes who groped random women in Tigerland every single time they'd get drunk and other than "dude you're gonna get us kicked out" every so often, not a single "bro" of theirs did anything of meaning to stop them.
There's a lot of people, both men and women, who roll their eyes at this stuff that's been happening because "of course its bad, but i don't do it! Only bad men do it!" Yet enough women have at least a couple instances over their lifetime of grope-y/creepy/etc. stuff happening. Someone is doing it. If you're such a good man, why would acknowledging that plenty of them are shitbags be so offensive? It would be like calling out obese people in a commercial and a bunch of NON-obese folks being offended for being called obese?
The Gillette commercial insinuated most men, the majority, are bad.
Not all men, Eh?

Ive never seen that happen. That's just a serious character flaw on their part

I'm sure the guys who make that choice will survive the mockery of a checkout clerk when she silently swipes their Schick razors

That scene was hilariously bad.

We shall see, I suppose

Yeah without that scene showing that they think it's literally all men, I would agree with her.

That's what I'm getting at. Reposting some STAND AGAINST GILLETTE thing on Facebook certainly qualifies. Are you contending an average consumer making the decision to buy something else and going about their life is "virtue signaling"?
Posted on 1/16/19 at 9:38 am to Pettifogger
I don't care about that. You're being made fun of here, and you'll probably survive that. I'm just here to enjoy a few melts and have a few laughs.

Tampax should do an ad targeting gold diggers.
Posted on 1/16/19 at 9:38 am to Darth_Vader
The kaep ad had the same freakout, but the numbers showed it worked.
We will see the truth about this soon, and I probably agree with you that it won't be good.

No.

This does.
Or telling everyone on TD about your boycott.

See the lessons I'm teaching them?
1. Actions have consequences(for my son)
2. Girls don't have to take no shite from Boys(for my 3 daughters).
Stick that in your face, faqqy OP.

Your signaling of being "above the fray" is laughably sad in this regard
Literally nobody here will protest Gillette in any meaningful way

What are they grilling? Corn and hot dogs?
Those aren’t men. Any man that invites me over for a BBQ and he’s only grilling Corn and hot dogs...i’m Gonna frick his wife and make him watch because he obviously has no clue what he’s doing.
Corn and fricking hot dogs man...
This is the kind of people we are dealing with. They have no real idea about mainstream America
