How about Durango?

Steamboat would have been my first choice, too, but Durango seems pretty nice.

Budget an extra $5k for travel back home. There are 5 nonstops per day between DEN and MSY. You don’t have to miss the really important stuff.

I’m not a fan of things like pot prohibition either but conservatives are certainly not the main problem in Louisiana

It's still nice, but Californians have discovered it.

If you're looking for a hidden gem, steer FAR away from Sedona. It's a pretty place but it's teeming with tourists year round.

Florida has tropical waters/species. Louisiana doesn’t.

Wyoming has no state income tax. State sales tax is 4%, but counties can charge an additional rate of up to 2%. The property tax is ranked as the eighth lowest in the country.

I have been licensed for 3 years waiting for a nuclear job to open in CO. Literally nothing!

We've considered relocating but this is one of the things that stops me right now. My daughter is almost in HS and has been going to school with most of those kids since pre k. I might as well let her finish her last 5 years and reevaluate at that time.

Littleton is nice and close to Denver, Buena Vista is cool too.

I have a friend who works in Loveland and she really enjoys it. Basically Fort Collins without the industry.

Probably to get away from "backwards thinking" people, eh? Somewhere less racist and more inclusive I presume?

NVM, looks like you just want to be around only white people. Congrats

Honestly from Fort Collins to Denver down to Colorado Springs is very expensive. I moved to CO from an area with one of the highest costs of living in the country and its staggering how expensive it is here. Unless you're pulling in strong earnings, it may be just a great place to come visit. I hear Boise, Idaho is a place that is on the rise and it may have what you're looking for at a much lower cost of living.
