I visit Colorado twice a year. The "small towns" that are worth living in are expensive. The other "small towns" that are not worth living in are poor, unsafe etc. Also, be prepared to take a drastic cut in pay if you want to live in one of these small towns. Have your finances in order and no debt/overhead.

We only get one life.. but I find visiting vs living where I want to go much more appealing.

Also, frick Denver.

Good luck moving to anywhere nice. Pharmacy is way over saturated. We just had two Pharmacists move to El Paso from Colorado because they had no jobs

Lived in Denver ‘15-‘17. Small town Colorado isn’t what it was like as a kid going out to ski country. I was shocked to hear how many of the small town folks were moving to Utah and Montana. These people were just average joe small town folk getting priced out left and right. It was a great experience but I’d be hard pressed to even entertain moving back to Colorado.

My dad's family is all from Denver. I used to love visiting there, but that place is full of insufferable smug now with ridiculous housing prices.

So basically just California but colder.

Do any of you guys know of a small town gem in the Rocky Mountains that you would move to if you could? I’m looking for a town that isn’t popular yet but that has potential.

You and a bunch of others want to move to Colorado.
Ouray is a great town.

Ouray is amazing.. but again.. what would one do for work? Drive to Montrose and wait tables I guess.

You should hang around. The just re-elected governor will have this state in tip top shape in the text four years.
Right?

I lived in Salida Colorado for geology field camp for part of one summer.

It's on the Arkansas River, surrounded by magnificent mountains. Economy took a major hit when the mines nearby closed down, but the last time I was there (four years ago) it still looked good.

Utah has Mormons. That means different things to different people. Get to know them, their way of life and then decide if you would fit or not.

I love Estes Park, CO. It's already kind of a 'touristy' town but I love it. Good luck finding your dream town and getting a job.
