How old is she? What do you peg her odds at of getting married and having kids?

What happened or brought you to the conclusion that ending a 10 year relationship is the best option?

You've lurked for at least 9 months and this is what you choose to finally start off with as your first post?
quote:
Marry her for God's sake. Just be the bigger man and marry her.
Then in six months when you come home early from a golf outing with your friends because the rain hit the course earlier than expected and you catch her in bed with say two utility workers you can claim wounded child and take half of her sh*t!!! You're a damn OT'er and life just doesn't offer much more than the opportunity to get on here and post about good lovin' gone bad.

I think a few pages back someone established her age as around her mid 30's.

You really should wait until after Thanksgiving. And then Christmas is right around the corner, you don't want to break her heart for Christmas. Then you have New Years and Mardi Gras. I think you're best off just staying with her and being miserable like most married guys.

Does it really matter? People in marriage can fight over the littlest of things. You will find out every single flaw they have. If you're not sure now, you will sure as hell be certain after six months. I applaud the OP for figuring it out before it's too late.
Besides, calling off an engagement is lot easier and less hurtful than a freaking divorce.

It took you 10 years to figure this out?
Yeah, no shite. One thing if it's 4 maybe 5 years, but you've taken this at scumbag levels. You've known you've been wasting her time for years and had no desire to marry her. Instead you decided to be a scum bucket and take her along the sex induced ride for years. Granted I have to question her as well in it taking 10 years to get fricking married, but I think you knew better unlike her.

10 year relationship
Engaged 1.5 years without a wedding date
She is an idiot for sticking around this long
Tell her that
On some level she already knows it

Considering the time you both have already invested and her desire to continue, are you sure this isn't something you can work through?

10 years, brah. Let Lucky get some strange. He is due.

How do you know he has been leading her on for 10 years? He only said "for a while".
You don't "date" someone for 10 fricking years unless you've been dating since 6th grade and agree to get a doctorate before saying the vows. If he's not trolling, then this dude is a scumbag and a dickhead. 5 years is absolute tops you should date someone without at least telling someone you have no plans to get married. If you do have plans, you need to be engaged by that point.
