Nice fella.

Looks good, what does he charge to clean?
I'm looking to make a run to Elmer's this weekend. I can take the kayak in the marsh if it's too windy but I want to try the surf in the kayak using cut bait on the bottom for bull reds and working something on the top for whatever else is around.

Any tips for Elmer's fishing in February? I've heard bull reds bite on the beach in the cold months but what else is out there?

TIA.
Trying to decide if it'll be worth it to head down in the morning. There's a 30% chance of storms tomorrow and I think there were some storms over the weekend, not sure if the water is too dirty with all that.

Obama does too, I guarantee it.
If she put little brown paper bags over her thumbs I guess I would hit it.

Bummed I didn't catch one.
What are we specifically talking about with cleaning? For general water clarity or do they actuallh help filter out things like pollutants?

What did you use to find the job postings?

Noob Black Ops 3 question

Posted by ClydeFrog on 12/18/15 at 10:07 am
It's my first time playing Black Ops 3. I used a token to unlock Perk 1 greed or whatever it is. It looks like it's using up one of my ten slots and I don't know how to remove it. The other slots let you press X to remove, there's no option for that on this one.

How do I get rid of perk 1 greed to get a slot back?

Who remembers the BYU womens soccer player who was pulling down New Mexico players to the ground by their ponytails

You have it backwards. It was the BYU girls that were getting punched and getting their hair pulled.
Libs say we don't need guns to keep us safe while at the same time saying they need to confiscate guns to keep us safe. Can't have it both ways.

Guns are here to stay. Disarmament would only take guns from the law abiding citizens. Criminala/terrorists could continue to find guns through the ones currently available on the street plus the flow of guns over the Mexican border that Liberals refuse to secure.

What are some of the various ways to fish a gold spoon?

I should have just called it a versatile lure. The common way is a straight retrieve in the middle column where the lure turns a bit. You can also work it bouncing off the bottom more jig style or use a lighter spoon to run it at the surface.

I consider these different because you can't do the same with most other hard baits. They're more likely to be a specific top water popper or walker or a suspending jerk bait that is good but just not as versatile.

As for the line shy bit, I read that somewhere and just didn't think it was a big deal to tie a fluorocarbon leader on just in case.

I've never used a leader... ever... except offshore

Do you use mono or braid for your main line?

I only do use a leader to hide my braid because I hear specks are line shy.

Voros hit it well but I think a 40lbs leader for the marsh is a bit much. I used 30 lbs for awhile but my knots were bigger than I like. 20 or 25 lbs works for me.

And if you're fishing the marsh, I like a 1/4 oz gold spoon. Redfish love it and it's very versatile with the number of ways you can fish it.

The new CZ 805 Bren is 5.56.

ETA: not sure if civilian version is out yet. There is a pistol type model but that's different.

Both OU and Michigan State over ND.

Park City is the answer.

Short drive from airport

From the SLC airport? Park City is one of the more out of the way resorts you can choose if distance from airport is a factor. The resorts in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons are closer.

But overall, Park City is probably the best for people who come from out of town.
For baitcasters I have Shimano Chronarchs on Abu Garcia Vendettas. I only use monofilament on my baitcasters.

For salt water I have an All Star with a Shimano Sahara 2500 (I think it's the 2500). I have braid on my spinning reels.

And braid I guess but are specs so line shy that a fluorocarbon leader always necessary? I suck at tying nail knots so I'd rather go straight braid unless it affects my fishing.
Not sure if this is posted already but apparently the guy who started the hunger strike is the son of a railroad executive who made $8 million last year. Family net worth estimated at $20 million. If that's oppression, sign me up.

MIZZOU HUNGER STRIKER Claims He’s Oppressed, Rips ‘White Privilege’ – Comes From Family Worth $20 Million

Jim Hoft Nov 10th, 2015 10:02 pm 144 Comments

He’s a One-Percenter! rich kid whitey The Revolution Jonathan Butler, the University of Missouri graduate student who went on a weekend hunger strike, comes from a family worth $20 million. His father is a railroad vice president and made over $8 million last year. Butler complained about white privilege. He argued he was oppressed. St. Louis Today reported: Jonathan Butler, a central figure in the protests at the University of Missouri, is an Omaha native and the son of a railroad vice president, the Omaha World-Herald reports. Butler refused food last week in a move to force the university system’s president, Timothy M. Wolfe, from office. Wolfe resigned Monday and Butler ended his hunger strike. Jonathan Butler played high-school football at Omaha Central High, where he won a state championship, and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mizzou, the newspaper reports. He is working toward a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy. He is a member of a prominent Omaha family. The newspaper says that Butler’s father is Eric L. Butler, executive vice president for sales and marketing for the Union Pacific Railroad. His 2014 compensation was $8.4 million, according to regulatory filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

What method was most effective for you?

I never pass up an opportunity to warn people away from Rosetta Stone. It's garbage, especially if you are studying a language that uses a different script.

In short, Rosetta Stone uses the philosophy that you should learn a language now the way you learned English as a child. By this they mean that there is essentially no instruction or guidance in the lessons and that you are thrown right in.

The issue for me is that as adults, we have more available to us to learn a language. I would love to learn about sentence structure and other grammar rules by having them explained to me, not having to trudge through trial and error.

For example, I used Rosetta Stone for Persian/Farsi. Persian writing uses old and very formal words while the spoken version of the same sentence uses different words and conjugation. I had no idea of this by going through Rosetta Stone because they don't explain anything; I was totally confused. I started using Pimsleur software on the advice of a friend and found that there was this written/spoken difference and I realized I wasn't crazy after all.

Edit: In terms of suggestions in addition to good software, listen to news, movies, songs, and podcasts in that language. Watching German movies with the subtitles on did wonders for me. You always hear about foreigners learning English by watching Friends or The Simpsons, do the same with the language you're trying to learn. With Youtube, the Apple Store etc, it's cheaper and easier to do than ever before.

Grand Isle but not the pier. Go along the road with shrimp under cork on one rig. Another with shrimp on the bottom. Bring ice chest with beer and you'll come home with a mess of fish and a good time.

You mean Highway 1 after you turn left but before the bridge onto Grand Isle where the pier is? Hope that makes sense.
I work nights and have tomorrow off. With the water as high as it is, is there anywhere worth going or should I take the night off? I may try that St. Tammany fishing pier if there are any good reports from the north shore.

I tend to go to Grand Isle and hit the fishing pier or Elmer's Island but I don't think I'm looking to make that kind of drive.
I'm looking to get into kayak fishing before too long. Where did you keep all these fish? Especially those larger Reds? I can't see how you'd have an ice chest that big, did you make trips back to the dock? Clearly I've never had that problem.
