It’s crazy to reach the point where I might be leaving home here in BR. The wife (no pics) is saying that the Western slope doesn’t have enough trees and that it’s too cold. The daughter (no pics) is fired up about leaving the hot weather.

Have any of you guys lived on the Western Slope? How were you able to make the transition to cold weather?

Just tell the wife to buy warmer clothes. I'd rather live in Telluride than anywhere in the South. I think the altitude would be a bigger adjustment than the cold for me.

What kind of profession takes you from BR to Telluride?

that’s not an area with a surplus of housing stock.
have you looked at a possible place to live?

we might run in different circles but the few people I know who live/have lived in telluride lived in a van

It's mega expensive like most desirable areas of Colorado. That's what will always keep me from living there at this point.

I don’t have that much stroke. I’ll probably be living North of there in Ridgway or Montrose. I said “Telluride area” as a point of reference.

Telluride is kind of my adopted second home. I was there two weeks ago and always hate leaving. The area is just amazing.

The winters aren’t as bad as some might think.. as long as the sun is out;)

P.S. Eat at Rustico.

Great place to go. Have family there and Durango. When my times comes in 7 years, I’m hitting the Eject button. Will have Uhaul and cars gassed up and ready to go the moment I walk out the office doors for the last time. If you go and interview there, you’re not going to want to come home. Bring warm clothes, fly rod, and Glock in 10mm.

Great town. I would also check out Ourey and Ridgway. Montrose is rather a good size city but seems kinda meh. I’ve heard that Grand Junction is growing.
