Sorta off subject but I remember in the 3rd grade I got the baby and was expected to bring the next one into the class the next day or week, not sure .
We were so poor my parents couldn’t afford it and man I was so embarrassed when I walked in the class that day. Everyone was pissed .

I went to school in the east and grew up in violet until 2nd grade. The guys would make sure I got the baby so my mom would pick up a randazzos cake for them. 6 yr olds cheating the system!!

Fun fact: McKenzie’s had a central bakery and delivered the pastries to each location.
If I recall what did them in was a bad health inspection at the central bakery that shut them down, and they couldn’t afford to fix the violations and shut down immediately following.

They cut that baby, it fell out and they pushed it back in the cake. Clear as day.
